I agree, it is not as good. BUT I am still very much enjoying Brendan Gleeson, Justine Lupe and Jharrel Jerome as our detective trio. They are all so good. I am a bit behind, but Hodges and Holly had an interaction in the last episode I watched, about Holly dressing up to try to impress the lawyer, and she went off on him in perfect Holly style, then he retorted....it made me laugh out loud. I love those 3 together. Perfect casting.I am not enjoying season 3 as much as reasons 1 and 2. I'm not a stickler for adaptations having to be just like the book, BUT the narrative is just not not as clear as I think it should be. There are things not explained except in an offhand matter. Some things only make sense because I know the books. Anyone with or against me?
The casting is good and Brendan Gleeson, Justine Lupe and Jharrel Jerome are brilliant together. The lawyer understands Holly perfectly. For more wonderful Holly have you read The Outsider?I agree, it is not as good. BUT I am still very much enjoying Brendan Gleeson, Justine Lupe and Jharrel Jerome as our detective trio. Oh yes, I really enjoyed The Outsider! The casting is good and Brendan Gleeson, Justine Lupe and Jharrel Jerome are brilliant together. The lawyer understands Holly perfectly. For more wonderful Holly have you read The Outsider?
I felt that way about season 2 until the last few episodes, but I'm really enjoying season 3. Dylan's "Series of Dreams" in the opening credits is perfect. The intro is actually one of my favorite parts, just gives me chills and conveys all the best parts of the trilogy (all three have been great). I think they very intentionally strayed from the source material for this series, and I think it works, because even for a novel, the structure of Finders Keepers is a bit strange, with Hodges not even making an appearance until halfway through the book. The biggest departure was probably the ending of season 2, which I thought I would really dislike, but I ended up thinking it was a great resolution. It was certainly easier to grasp than the astral projection plot probably would have been once translated to television. Of what I've seen, I'd put in a vote for Mr. Mercedes as best King adaptation.I am not enjoying season 3 as much as reasons 1 and 2. As TV adaptations go, it's very well done. I see where your going, but I'm not feeling the loveI felt that way about season 2 until the last few episodes, but I'm really enjoying season 3. To be fair, this series has went down hill since season one.As TV adaptations go, it's very well done. I see where your going, but I'm not feeling the love
