I would love to see the show turn to an element from the DT to resolve the Season 2 cliffhanger. Specifically,
Melanie appears at the end of S2, and she is clearly wet. To me, that indicates that she might be back in the lake. I think it would be interesting if the town follows her, only to emerge from the lake with no recollection of the events of the first two seasons ... just like Roland, they are given the opportunity to fix what they have done wrong. The sidebar to this is that Julia, Junior and Big Jim did not go through the lake, and still have their memories, leaving Julia and Junior as the only ones who know what Big Jim has done.
