Honestly?

In my opinion, this show is the worst thing to ever see the light of day with Stephen King's name attached to it. The "writers" are just going to keep trying to extend this "story" as long as possible with no plot arc(s) or consequences to anything that happens (how many critical injuries has Julia had?).

Oh come on. You may not like it. But the worst thing with Stephen kings name on it. That's a bit ott. There are much much worse things out there with his name attached. (let's not forget the ending of the book is one of the worst things hes ever written) not too mention some of the tv mini series and made for tv films that have his name plastered all over them and are pure garbage. Even when utd is bad it's not that bad.

Just read that under the done has been renewed for season 3. This pleases me . I was a fan of season 2 after not being overly impressed with season 1. I'm interested in other hard-core king fans opinion of this show. So what do u think guys.

This is great news! Thanks! I had been googling UTD third season to see if CBS renewed it but gave up. I'm a big fan of UTD the series :)

Do you mind if I post your news to the other UTD thread?

I definitely value your opinion, but I think if we are opening it up to anything with SK's name attached to it, A Return to 'Salem's Lot and Pet Sematary 2 should get a lot of votes ... and if we are talking about projects SK was directly involved in, I think Kingdom Hospital was much worse

I'm happy to see it coming back. It isn't the best show in the history of television, and it isn't the worst, but I find if I can just watch it for what it is, I'm entertained, and definitely interested to see where it is going.

Did ya hafta underline 'my'? Kinda makes ya sound self-important 'n' all. No underline woulda been just fine.

"How many critical injuries has Julia had?"
Not so many as I wouldn't kiss better. How's that?

I think Dean Norris should get some kind of award for playing Big Jim Rennie. He's doing a great job. Also, the lady who plays Julia Shumway should just get an award for keeping her hair looking perfect and being superhot overall...:love-struck:

I underlined it because it referred specifically to my opinion, as I know I am in a SK/UTD TV forum where most people still watch the show and have higher opinions of it, and I didnt want to speak for them/you. I was trying to bring attention to my opinion being isolated and not speaking as fact or in the majority here.

Fair enough, but 'my' alone would have done what you intended (for me, at least). As it was, I found that the underline kind of drowned out your points, good ones though they were. The deeper I've got into S2 (still airing over here), the more I've wondered where the hell the producers are taking it, not only for S2 but overall.

We didn't get anything about it directly from CBS--perhaps because Stephen isn't planning to do any personal promotion of the series this season, but have no reason to believe it isn't accurate.

It's fair to middlin. Nothing like the book. I'll probably watch it, but won't be heartbroken to see it wrap up.

I just hope they wrap it up this season. I don't know if it's the writing, acting, directing, or all three, but it's been a pretty hard watch thus far. I'm having a hard time watching characters that Mr King spent a great deal of time creating & developing get slaughtered and completely redone for the screen. Of course with all my complaining I'll still watch season 3.

I agree H.I. Just try to forget it was ever an SK story. Not hard because it isn't even close.

I was not a big fan of the series, but I watched it just to see how it would evolve. I don't think I'll continue watching though. I keep on asking myself why some characters are not dead yet. They seem to have a great capacity of ''survival''. Anyway, I expect a TV series not to reflect the original written story, but I don't want to get annoyed by characters I originally loved, you know what I mean? For instance, I loved Barbie in the book, but not on screen. I also liked Julia, but the Julia in the book was the one I preferred. It's just my humble opinion. That being said, it's just for entertainment I guess, so it's ok.
