Watched the first episode last night. Not sure about it yet. There's a lot of flashback scenes and I haven't figured out what's going on with those and how it relates to what's going on in the present day.
Keep me posted. It might be another episode before I get it started. Maybe by then you'll have more of a feel for it.

I tried and fell asleep and woke up to the very creepy song playing during the closing credits. I came here to get YOUR Dana Jean opinion on whether I could handle it - is is THAT dark and disturbing? Since y'all watched already Moderator and arista - what do you think - does it get into your head and you can't get it out - like American Horror Story? I watched season 1, after that it got to weird.

No, it is more of a Twin Peaks sort of vibe. The main character is a cutter, so if that is something you can't handle then no.
(I started listening to the book on audible.)

Still haven't watched any more of this so didn't know about the cutter part of it, just that she's a functioning alcoholic. I'd agree about the Twin Peaks vibe although I've never watched American Horror Story so will have to give the benefit of the doubt on that one.

I have the first few episodes recorded but haven't watched yet. I wanted to read the book first so borrowed it from the library and it grabbed me right away, but I have lost time to sit and read, so am only a quarter of the way through it.

Interesting though, just judging by what has been said by those who have watched so far, it sounds like the show has a different vibe than the book.

The ending of this series was great. PS please stick around for the credits at the ending of the show.
