Netflix series. I thought I had talked about this before, but I don't see where I did.

This is based off the same storyline, but different, than the movie "Shooter" with Mark Walberg, Danny Glover, Ned Beatty, and others. The movie is a guilty pleasure of mine, and Walberg is an executive producer on this one, so I had hopes.

I'm not sure how much to explore in a plot summary. Bob Lee Swagger, retired Marine scout sniper and one of the best at his job in the world (read: Badass Supreme), is hired to prevent a potential assassination, then things go wrong, and then even wronger, and it turns out you can't trust the ones you thought you could trust, and so on. Good stuff.

Ryan Phillippe plays the titular role and does quite a good job of it. Season 1 is interesting, quick-moving, and suspenseful. The story threads run a tad complex, but when I got lost I found my way again pretty quickly. Season 1 reached the end satisfactorily.

Season 2, a little less so. The plot bones are good, but there's a lot of time-jumping without warning, and if you're away from a day or so, you tend to forget some of the plot turns that have taken place. A few times there's action happening, and Grandma and I just aren't sure of the plot line they're on. Pretty good performances all around, particularly Swagger's wife, who plays very well a combination of a tough wife of a Marine and someone caught up in, RUFKM, what is going on?

If you want a international military/intelligence suspense yarn, I recommend it. I wouldn't bother with Season 2 unless you've seen Season 1.

Thanks Grandpa, I have Netflix so I'll check it out.

(I had to Google RUFKM )
