Your guitars are beautiful Tery. I really like the Luna. Great color.:)
I'd like to be able to see some of your albums, too. Album cover art was once a thing to anticipate.

Here is a photo of the piano I saved from being salvaged. All it needed was a tuning.
BTW, You can only see the bottom of the painting above the Starr piano, but that is a textured oils painting by Elmo Gideon, a Florida artist (Google him; interesting dude). I rescued that from a trash heap in a building due for demolition. The next week I found that old gold-gilded frame at the local charity thrift shop. It fit the painting perfectly.
Why do people toss musical instruments and original art away?

Gorgeous!

My Dad bought a house that had an upright piano in it. Sadly I never learned to play it and it was never tuned.

Here's part 1 of what's currently in the SwiftDog guitarsenal (it will take a couple of posts to get them all in :) )

IMG_0390.jpg

This one has been with me the longest as she was my first quality guitar. Received her as a 16th birthday present from my parents. Started life as a 1989 Japanese Fender Standard Stratocaster. There'e nothing stock about her now except for the body (which has faded to a really nice cream color). She's gone through several pickup configurations. Her current specs are a Seymour Duncan 59' in the neck, Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge, single volume knob, vintage Fender tremolo with graphite saddles, and a Fender Custom Shop neck with a rosewood finger board. Basically, she's a Charvel inspired Super-Strat now.

IMG_0397.jpg

This sunburst beauty was my main guitar up through the end of my gigging days with my last band. She's a 1994 Fender American Standard Stratocaster. She too has gone through a couple of pick-up configurations. She's been rocking a Seymour Duncan Cool Rails in the neck, Seymour Duncan SSL single-coil in the middle, and a Seymour Duncan JB Jr. in the bridge for about 12 years now. She's got a maple neck. Versatile and well rounded guitar.

IMG_0393.jpg

This is my 2000 Gibson Songbird Acoustic. Traded my 1991 Yamaha acoustic in on this. Stock except for the Fishman piezo pickup under the bridge so that I can plug it into an amp / PA. Full, warm, and punchy acoustic tone.

IMG_0392.jpg

Here is my 2012 Charvel DS1 ProMod gold-top. She's stock as it came with the Seymour Duncan pick-ups I would have swapped in (59 in the neck, JB i the bridge). As you can see, it's a Les Paul copy but weighs a lot less as the body is a smidge smaller than the Gibson.

Part 2 of the SwiftDog guitarsenal \w/:

IMG_0396.jpg

This is my 2013 Charvel San Dimas ProMod HS in candy-apple blue. I swapped the Seymour Duncan SSL in the neck out for a Seymour Duncan cool rails. Other than that she's stock. I like her but never really fell in love with it so she's a candidate to be traded for something else in the future.

IMG_0395.jpg

This is my 2014 Charvel SoCal in candy-apple blue. Stock except for the custom Dog Soldiers pick-guard I had Greasy Groove make for me. She's got a maple neck and is my first guitar with a Floyd Rose locking tremolo. Jury is out on the Floyd Rose. Works great if you are a whammy-bar daredevil, which I'm not. I'm more of a whammy-bar masseuse. It does keep the guitar in tune which the vintage style bridges have trouble with. Excellent rock / metal guitar.

IMG_0391.jpg

Here is my Ebay find of the decade! It's a 2013 Charvel DS2 ProMod in a flat red that I got for little dough from a music store that was liquidating it's Charvel line. I swapped the stock Charvel humbuckers out for Seymour Duncan PhatCat P90's. Another Les Paul Copy as you can see. Great guitar for punk / alternative type songs. She had a bit of an accident when I loaned it to a buddy of mine for a photography project I commissioned. She took a digger onto the cement and got a little scuffed up and received a few minor battle scars. Gives her character though! Another guitar that I like but don't love. She's a candidate for trade as well.

IMG_0374.jpg

Finally, here is my latest addition. This is my 2014 Charvel Super Stock SD in Orange Sparkle. Another eBay find. Music store in New York was looking to move some older inventory. Got her for a good price! This was a limited edition color for 2014 (there were only 500). She's all stock. Maple neck, Floyd Rose, and Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck JB in the bridge. Color almost matches my Camaro :)

She is SHINY in person. You need a pair of Wayfarers just to be in her presence!

Great rock / Metal guitar. Sounds KILLER when paired with my Orange OR15 amp.

As you can probably guess, I have a thing for Super-Strat style guitars. I like my guitars like my cars, hot-rodded!!

Charvel is actually owned by Fender now. The build quality on the guitars is excellent and they are reasonably priced so if they are your thing I highly recommend them.

All my electrics are strung with D'Addario .011's and have locking strap buttons now as I have had the distinct pleasure of having my guitar slip it's strap while on stage :facepalm_smiley:

The acoustic is sporting D'Addario light gauge acoustic strings.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the '89 Strat in my first post is sporting a custom Xenomorph pick-guard from Greasy Groove!

I think I may have a guitar hoarding problem.............

I guess this is the only one of my 3 guitars that is not too embarrassing to be shown here. LTD ec-1000 (by ESP), their version of "Les Paul" with EMG active pick-ups. I think the current strings are Ernie Ball 11 to 50 gauge.
I heard that those sharper edges of the body are required by law issues with Gibson. It's a mystery why some manufacturers still are allowed to make exact replicas.

Hey, no embarrassment regarding our magical melodious beauties allowed!
They are all special... even that cheap Epiphone Caballero reissue that I pulled from the trash heap :)

I'm still working on finding time to photograph mine and post here.

Actually, I own an Epiphone too, it's an Explorer replica (with a plywood body :facepalm_smiley:). Bought that one in 1988. Ended up picking that one, since James Hetfield played the real Gibson version. Now that's embarrassing. But you're right, was only kidding about that (not the Hetfield part, though).

HELP

A flood resulted in water pouring on top of my son's Casio organ. When I found it (while getting garbage bags) I wiped it and turned it different angles to allow more water to pour out of it.

Any chance it may have survived? How long should we wait before trying to turn it on?

It would be better to bring the organ into a special ultrasonic cleaning bath, it should wipe all the salts being adhered to the printed circuits by a water's evaporation. If you haven't a possibility to do it - then try to disassemble the organ and clean the printed circuits with an alcohol, it should also helps.

I enjoy playing guitar, also have a both.
My very first guitar (already sold) was a china strat "Aria Pro" with three single pickups.
Few years later i bought Ibanez RG-320 with an analog of Floyd Rose tremolo. It's equipped with two humbuckers in neck and bridge positions. Very nice guitar, i'm still using it.
Two years ago i bought LTD by ESP MH-1000 deluxe with DiMarzio Drop Sonic in bridge. I mostly use for high-gained compositions.
I also have a Fender CD-60 acoustics.

The organ seems fine. Hopefully remains that way.

Ds was just given a piccolo. It has been untouched for at least ten years. The keys all seem fine, so we're hoping no major work required.

It's on hold right now, but we'll take it in and hope it's under $200.

I think I've said this before but, I cannot stand, absolutely cannot stand locking nut vibrato bars... I found a couple of Ibanez guitars with these quasi-floating bridge bars that work just fine without locking nuts, and though I break strings more often, or go out-of-tune more often, they can be quickly re-tuned or replaced, whereas those Floyd Rose and imitator set-ups take an 'act of congress' to do the same with.... It's a definite problem for someone who uses the bar as much as I do.... well, when I do... some songs don't need that kind of accenting.

I hear you. Major pain to restring a Floyd Rose guitar. I have a couple guitars with them. I'm new to them so not sure how much I like / dislike them.

This is the newest addition to my guitar family. It's a Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe III. A beautiful guitar. Sounds amazing and doesn't kill me with the weight:

And here are the others (yeah, that's a Squire in there, not a Fender):

My strings are mostly Ernie Ball .10's (been using them for a decade). The acoustic is Ernie Ball as well, but I don't recall the gauge as of now. I do have D'Addario 0.12's ready to go on the acoustic when it's time to change them, though. Just changing brands on it for kicks, I guess. I currently have a set of .09's on the Jackson without the Floyd (the ones that came on it when I bought it a few weeks ago), but those will be changed out soon.

I love the Floyd Rose trem system, personally. It took me a while to figure out how to change the strings or downtune, but it's worth it for me.

I'm not really good with technical terms for everything so I couldn't tell you stuff like pickups and all that.
