I have a few SIGNED copies of "End of watch" for sale. These were obtained on the book tour and at the National book Festival event. I can take photos of the exact book you will receive as well as the signature. Anyone interested can PM me and we can talk.

I am also in search for anyone willing to trade for a Mr. Mercedes or two, so I can compete a signed trilogy.

Thank you

I gather that the books distributed at the NF were not first printings but something like 7th or 8th to the extent anyone cares about such things. And book collectors being a pedantic lot generally do. It somewhat amazes me when I read that few people were standing in line and many signed copies were not picked up after the frenzy on the recent book tour. I don't quite understand that. Maybe because school is back in session or the book festival crowd in DC considers themselves more politics and literature oriented than King fans. A bit mystifying though. One guy claimed to have gotten 20 or so signed copies at the NF because so many were left over. Ebay will no doubt be flooded.

Comparing this to the recent book tour and I was also surprised. People were literately crying when they did not get a signed book, and the waiting in line overnight ect. I enjoyed both of the events I attended on the book tour, but this was odd just seeing all those signed books sitting there and not getting rushed over and empty seats when King was speaking. What I think sucks more is how many of those fans that did miss out on the book tour could of attended and gotten the signed book so easily but the way it was advertised and the tickets being gone in 2 mins and the fact that only 400 books signed ect, just like the book tour. Discouraged people from making a long trip with what was preceved as little chance to attend or get a book. I would not of gone if not for it being only an hour away. Also, like you said ebay should be flooded. But its not, I seen people on the book tour posting their books books on ebay before they even left the parking lot. As it looks now not one from the book festival is up yet. But I am sure that will change.

I can't even begin to tell you how this upsets me. I treasure every autographed Stephen King book I have, but not because I want to sell it 2 minutes after I get it. I WANT to KEEP that book. I read that book. signature and all

I wonder if a lot of tickets to this event go to "VIPs" who simply don't bother to show up or care if they get a signed copy? They are not King fans per se but have some connection that gets them tickets. I can only imagine the politics behind a DC book event and how tickets are allocated. I've been to King events held at places like universities where it seemed like a whole lot of dignitaries are invited for the event because they had some connection to the university events. They show up for any author and could care less that it was King or whether they get a signed copy. A night and day difference from his book tour crowd that are clearly there to see King.

I also have copies of the signed book for sale as well, please PM me if you are interested. I can provide photographs of my children and I with our tickets to see Stephen speak as proof of what I currently have as well as photographs that I took to show that I was at the lecture. I was one of the first people to ask for extra books after the 2 pm pick up deadline which was set for anyone who received an email could purchase the book. I first purchased my book, saw how many they had left, then got back in line to purchase additional books after 2 pm. The staff was confused at first but eventually sold me, as well as a couple of other people additional copies of the book. I was number 6 in line for having my book signed for Under The Dome when he was in Baltimore a few years back and was ecstatic to be able to obtain a signed copy of End Of Watch. The books that I have are in mint condition and have not been opened by me.

This thread can be deleted. I no longer have any of the books for sale. Only the ones I plan on keeping for myself. That is unless that ever elusive signed Mr. Mercedes comes around for a trade so I can complete my signed trilogy!!
I can close the thread unless you want it kept open for the just in case signed copy of Mr. Mercedes. I don't see that happening anytime soon, though, unless a friend or family member who got one decides to sell theirs. It won't be me, though. ;)

Yeah yeah, I doubt I will ever complete that trilogy. I didn't expect it to be so hard to get, I thought I had the hard one to get when I got my Finders Keepers, but Obviously I was wrong. Anyways you can close the thread please, I will just keep an eye on my inbox for your generous offer to sell your Mr. Mercedes to me, lol.
