That title gets your attention doesn't it?
Here is my background:
I discovered SK in High School (first book was Thinner). I enjoyed his stories, started out slow, can't even remember what else I read but my sophomore year in college I got a SK calendar for Christmas. It had wonderful obscure comments in some of the date boxes: "Carrie goes to the prom", 'Lloyd eats the rat". So I set out to read everything the calendar had listed on it (which resulted in my reading everything so far <except Under the Dome but that's another story>).
So I'm in college, reading mega books like the Stand and It and only doing so-so in school. In one night I stayed up and read Cujo until I realized I hadn't slept at all. It wasn't a Hearts in Atlantis situation, but I got a few C's. Well C's kept me out of my highly competitive grad school program, so I blame Mr. King.
But not too harshly the trade off was worth it! And on the plus side I worked close to my chosen field for 17 years, reapplied and am now a full time grad student. I have to watch myself with the books and only read over breaks. Spring break started Friday and I just finished Joyland. I read Dr. Sleep over Fall break.
See ya around the boards!
