Hi everyone!

This is my first post here. It's nice to meet all of you!

So my husband and I are planning to attend the Sleeping Beauties book tour in Chicago, IL. I was wondering if they will eventually announce the actual location of the event because I read on the website's FAQ that they no longer do that because it caused some problems in the past. We live in Minnesota, and I want to book our flight now because the prices are cheap.

Thank you. :D

Any way of finding out the bookstore in Kansas City (an 11 hour drive away) so I can watch their website/get on their mailing list? Probably not, but can't hurt to ask if anyone has heard anything?
Too early yet as the fine details haven't been ironed out yet. Marsha (Moderator) will let us know when it's all set.

Ummm.....there aren't any events happening in Kansas City for this one. There will be one in St. Louis on October 1st, though. Is that what you meant?

No signings on this tour.

My browser is so old at work that it can't process the fancy book tour detail pages. I have a first edition Carrie and Gunslinger I am dying to get signed. I feel like he hasn't held a non-new book signing event since accepting an award at George Mason quite a few years back. I've been watching with bated breath for years. I know how horrible it must be to sign books for 4-6 hours, so has he voiced that he is done with non-new book signing events or is he still open to it?

There hasn't been an official "I'll never do a book signing again" directive but the pre-signed books method has become the rule more than the exception. This tour will not have any book signings.

The signings I have attended since my first (Bag of Bones) have always been for just the new book being promoted. Officially Steve wasn't signing at the cocktail hour fundraiser for John Irving event in Manchester Vermont, but he signed anything and everything people handed him. I did have him sign the event inivitation, as I forgot to bring my just-in-case books with me. :hammer:

In the past, King has signed older books at some annual book festivals like in Toronto and Savannah. When he is promoting a new book, it is strictly the new book only. That's understandable at presigned events but not with actual signings where it's unclear why it's limited to sigining only the new book so long as you buy a book from the sponsor store as required in most instances. Buy the new book, get any one book signed of your choosing would work and not take any longer. But I learned to stop applying common sense to these events and go with the flow.

I think it may be because people whould bring in their entire collection of king books, and if you have them all that's 70 books plus for your ur friends. Etc
