I have looked forward to seeing the Dark Tower in a movie.
The dark Tower series is my favorite story> Read it thru 3 Times.
I also looked forward to seeing the Dome, it was my second favorite book. If you ever read it you will agree how it captivated you thru those long pages.
Steve ruined that story with his adaptation for tv. No one i know liked it.
And now he is ruining the dark Tower series with his choice of leading charactor for Roland.
Steve you are getting old and like all old people you are forgetting where you lrft your car keys
PLEASE LET SOMEONE ELSE DRIVE

The casting isn't a call Mr. King gets to make.

I'm new to the story and I'm 1/4th into the "drawing of the three," I can understand why people are upset. If anything, I do hope the movie does make a splash (especially with the younger generation) and inspires people of all ages to get into the book.

God's of the cinema and fair gods of the arts,
I, Constant Reader, beg thee, hear my plea.
Let not the Dark Tower movie adaptation be a shambles.
Allow for sanity and the brilliance of inspiration to prevail.
Trust not those who would interposed profit for perfection.
Allow for a cool head and a true heart
In this critical hour while the Tower still stands,
The Beam still rocks and Roland Deschain is a hero
Dedicated fans will always love and recognize.
Let not the Tower fall, we beseech thee.
It is in King, and the Kingly vision, that we trust.

If it isn't too much to ask, please allow Peter Jackson to direct. Thanks.

Usually blatant critics of Stephen King on his own generously provided message board have prepared themselves better.

I can understand the reasoning for disappointment over the choice of Roland, because clearly, Roland ain't black, has never been black. No different to say, Taylor Swift being cast to play Suzanne...ridiculous. Imagine if Leo Di Caprio played Ray Charles, instead of Jamie Foxx? Makes no sense, but it is what it is now. Maybe they'll let Jabba the Hut play the Crimson King...that might actually be awesome! :biggrin2:
