we had a good Christmas.

I got clothes, an Instant Pot, nutcrackers (I collect them), a Jays shirt and tickets to a Jays game. My dil got me a hand made Native purse. It’s beautiful and is adorned with pieces of ostrich shell. DIL is Native and does some work with leather, but she did not make this. It was made by a Native woman, probably on a Reservation.

Funny thing....

We bought Instant Pots for our adult son’s and their wives as well as the one for me. For anyone not familiar, it is a Pressure Cooker plus a whole lot more.

The cop says....”you walked out of the store with 3 pressure cookers and security didn’t stop you? .... what’s wrong with that picture?”

Favorite gift was a very nice brown leather jacket from Grandma. My bomber jacket of the last 20 or 30 years was showing serious wear.

Grandma very much liked attire things I got her for indoors and out, and some sparklies.

The benefits of the orgy of consumerism went to the grandkids. It's been a good year. Might as well spend it.

I got a new powerful snowblower. No more snowblower envy for me watching my neighbors clearing snow in half the time it takes me. And I gave my old snowblower to my 75 year-old father-in-law, as shoveling has become too difficult for him. The small one will meet his needs. Also got some tools, clothing and scotch.

Got a STIHL leaf blower and gutter cleaning attachment from my fiance....A STIHL! Never been able to afford one of those much less a gutter attachment to go with one. It was a really nice surprise. Apparently she doesn't have much confidence in watching me go up 8 feet in the air on a ladder to clean out the gutters. What could go wrong????;)
I got Tamara a new Canon EOS T6 digital camera with about 4 thousand attachments, lenses, extra batteries and what not. Also got her some very nice diamond and gold earrings that looked as good on her as I imagined they would. I let her open those on Christmas Eve and I noticed she wore her hair back on Christmas night when her family was over. I think she may have been showing them off...lol

Money! :) And bills! :( I spent an ungodly amount on my kid. My best gift will be when I get a pic from her with all the stuff I sent. I gave one of my work friends an Iron Patriot action figure (lol), I gave another friend a Mel Gibson as Braveheart POP figure, since, although he's a young guy, he thinks Mel Gibson is all that and a bag of chips! And my best female friend at work, sometimes referred to as my 'work wife' by my co-workers, I gave a Thor figure -- she's in love with that big Swede that plays him in the movies, and a size medium Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner T-shirt! She freaked out. She loves Dirty Dancing. The movie. Not actually doing it. I don't think.

Sounds like you got a good haul!

I got Lulu Lemon pants, Lush bath bombs and a bottle of Bailey's Irish cream to put in my coffee, plus a very nice oven mitt from a store called Oh Canada!

Yeah - consumerism - I get it.

We finished up our shopping on Friday the 22nd and it was already a madhouse out there!

Dalwhinnie's a nice sip, and the 15-year will make it quite tasty indeed.

We did go to the liquor shop, and Grandma suggested I get two bottles on sale: A Balvenie 12-year Double Wood, which punches above its price weight, and my near favorite, a 16-year Lagavulin. I should consider those gifts too!

That a wee bit too peaty for me (would make me want to "boke" as Andy puts it).

Enjoy!

....you guys done good!....love the pressure cooker quip.......STIHL equipment is pretty much all my dad ever bought Ghost and it's good stuff.....no worries, just have her stand under you with a tiny butterfly net....the fall wouldn't hurt yoi, the sudden stop at the end?....maybe.....for my patriotic duty of spenderism-I got the wife several pieces of Cambridge Glass, a couple of CD's, some parts for her '66 Pony car and such.....my favorite from her?.....each smile as she opened her gifts......
