"Their clip for Dark Tower with Idris Elba as the Gunslinger and Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black was truly sensational, making up for the lack of stars being present on stage. It’s arguably the first time any footage has been shown from the movie which involves a young boy protagonist who senses the other world of Gunslinger and Man in Black’s battle."

You should hop on over to Lilja's Library- there's a review by someone who saw the clip and what they have to say isn't flattering....

Are they doing a series of Dark Tower Movies? I always thought that the Dark Tower should have been like an HBO type movie event...maybe something on Netflix.
If this one does well there will be more. The original idea was to do three theatrical releases, then go to television then back to the theatrical release for the finale. I don't know what the plans are now.

Release has been postponed again, but only by a week luckily. It's coming out a week later now, and they promised that will be the last postponement.

A trailer is gonna come real soon now, but to make it a hit I think they will have to do more in the way of advertisement.

Anyway, the trailer should come soon now.

I wonder why it takes so long for a trailer to be released. It's about three months now til release and still we've had no trailer. I suppose it takes them long to finish the visual effects, as a lot of that was clearly missing in the leaked trailer.

Won't it hurt the success of the movie if they wait so long with the trailer? A lot of people won't have seen the trailer when the movie is released (not everyone checks internet daily), and while well-known to King-fans it's still totally new for a lot of people who will have no idea what it is when the movie comes out.

It will be coming very soon. I have that on good authority. ;)

The opening scene of the newest season of The Leftovers features a religious family who've been told the rapture is coming on a certain date. They climb onto their roof and wait, arms outstretched. Nothing happens. The pastor gets a message and redoes his calculations. Not that date, but this one. They go up again and wait...nothing. More messages. New calculations. More waiting. That's how it's been for people awaiting the trailer lately!

By in large, I don't watch the trailers anymore. 1) They rarely reflect the quality of the film. A good trailer can make a turkey look great. 2) They tend to give away too much. More often than not, you have watched the entire film in Cliff Notes. I do think it is strange that the trailer hasn't been released yet when we are almost on top of the release date. The studio is doing minimal promotion.
