Anyone have an info on how an eighteen year old can over come losing there vision and find a career where they love to read and write
Welcome to the site. :) I think talking with their health professional/s would be a good place to start from, there is probably a wealth of information to be used there. Good luck...

Growing up in Tamarack Mills, a neighbor lady was blind...Mrs. Hebert. Ruth. She worked for a living...at Michigan Tech...or that's the way I remember it. She lived alone. Except for The Dominator, her sister who visited on occasion. Ruth got by...she even managed to pay bills w/hard cash...apparently she could feel the whiskers on Grant and Lincoln...that, or someone arranged the bills in her wallet. She also had a great raspberry patch...yum...course, it seemed like whenever I was in GI Joe mode, after a hard hour or two of fighting the Germans, I'd sneak into her raspberry patch and squat down. It never failed that before the second berry was past my teeth and gums, Ruth would appear at her back porch door...and she's stand there not saying a word, just studying the situation. I'm thinking...yeah, right...she ain't blind! I think what happened is Gertie...Mrs Dupras...was watching from her big picture window in the kitchen, looking out over her terraced and manicured yard and gave Ruth a holler. Raspberries have these gnarly points on the branches...and I was never awarded a Purple Heart, alas. I don't know what Ruth did for a living...simply that she did just that...lived...and worked...and caught me eating her raspberries...every time. :)
