Dreaming is like flying through another dimension. I have just published my first novel at the age of twenty, The Trouble with Dreamers. My name is Starlight Tucker and I am an independent author. Ever since I was a child, I had extremely elaborate dreams and nightmares. My mother told me that Stephen King was known for writing stories based on his dreams, and that is exactly what I have done in my career as an author. I discovered my specific goals in King’s image because I knew I could apply the same forms of leadership in my own storytelling.

I sincerely hope to hear back from you as King is my number one influence in finding the direction I wish for my career. Please let me know if we can discuss opportunities for ambitious authors such as myself.

I wrote a futuristic science fiction novel about dream analysis. Like many authors, my dream is for my book to become a form of reality on the big screen. A story with a secret that shocks the reader and changes their entire view on the plot is a phenomenon that fascinates me about writing. This book has been expanded and revised since I knew I wanted to create it at the age of fourteen.

By the twenty second century, technological developments had made it possible for humans to observe inside thoughts and dreams through a multipurpose device called the corneal implant. The corneal implant pairs with the connection from the optic nerve to the brain, creating a hands-free world of technology via Bluetooth. The C.I. increases productivity and environmental sustainability by replacing paper, thus making the unauthorized use of paper illegal. After experiencing malfunctions in the corneal implant, Landon Brauns, a CEO of a publishing house, is sent to Brain Analyzation, the psychiatric care system of the future. As Dr.Huntington and Dr.Hodson analyze Landon's brain, they observe a level of photographic detail in his dreams that was assumed to be extinct. Landon experiences a distorted version of life and love in his own mind set in a time far before he existed.

Please support me as a young author at the age of 20 by taking a look inside my first novel and take part in this discussion using one or many of the topics below:

Challenge question: What steps should an author take when attempting to submit a novel to a film production company?

1. Does the preface spark the reader's curiosity?

2. How have dreams sparked your imagination?

3. What is the perceived setting, theme, and mood of the preface?

4. What forms of technology advancement has the world achieved in 2135?

5. Detect a quote that could be construed as foreshadowing.

I hope to partner with you in the process of making this novel become a film.

Sincerely,

Starlight Tucker
