I travel a lot and I was in Sardinia about a month ago. I was in a store in Olbia and go to talking to the clerk. He asked where I was from and I answered the United States. He asked what state. Having answered this question a lot, I thought I knew what was coming when I said Maine. The usual answer is that the person has never heard of it. However this young man surprised me. He said, "I know Maine. Bangor is in Maine". Of course I registered surprise and said how did he know Bangor, Maine. He answered, "I know it because Stephan King is from Bangor, Maine". He when on to say, in excellent English, that he is a constant reader and reads every thing that you write.
Anyway, Stephan, if you read this or anyone else reads it and points it out to you and you have a mind to, send him an email. It would be an gigantic thrill to him and mean a lot.
