Sisterwife, I'm so glad it grabbed you! I love it.

This quote in the article nottie posted is just perfect:
Stranger Things is a love letter to the 1980s, Stephen King, and John Carpenter.

I did the stupidest thing. I can only watch 1 episode at a time. Maybe once I watched 2, but I fall asleep once I get in bed, and that's where I do my Netflix watching. Anyhow. I finished Episode 8 and could not wait to watch Episode 9 Friday night. Got myself in bed early to watch. You all know the rest of the story. Eight was all there was. I thought there'd be 10 or 12. But 8? It's inconceivable! This is one of the reasons I don't like to get attached to a show - I cannot stand the wait. I think I would have died in agony if I'd read the Tower as published. Anyone have the scoop on when the next season will be out? It's been everything I love in a show. And I definitely have a crush on Hopper. I think Winona Ryder is doing a great job.

according to the Netflix Boss Reed Hastings, the Season 2 of the show should not be an issue. There should not even have rumors about the cancellation of the second season. He added that Netflix will be dumb if they do not bring out the second season. They know how the show affected their fans too much.

Hastings said to The Guardian that, "Because we don't have to advertise we are under a whole different model to not compare all the shows and rank other shows because it kind of doesn't matter what everybody loves the most it, matters what you or I love most." At this point, fans of the show will just have to wait for more details.

It's a deal! You might find that episode nine is drawn in crayon and has stick figures. Is that a problem?:D

For me it was no question about it. The girl, El, was the best one in it. Really liked it, full of fun references to movies and books of the 80-ties. Saw it in three sittings on my holiday in the states. Thought the ending could be questioned.........

Happy TGIF!

Stranger Things on Netflix is available today.

A love letter to the supernatural classics of the 80's, Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

I read it described as "If Stephen King wrote E.T."

One season, eight episodes.

I'm going to try to watch sometime this weekend.

Have a great weekend!
Good series. I just watched it last weekend.

I'm impressed by this show, and most of its actors (especially eleven and hopper). I've just watched episode 5 and wanted to watch episode 6, but knew that if I watched that I'd want to watch episode 7 and 8 and I have to sleep at some point so I'm saving the rest for tomorrow.

I like that the creators are seemingly unapologetic about the fact that it is just a pure self indulgent 80s rewind. It's as if they said "wouldn't be cool if these 80s horror shows and films were made in HD?"

Love the music, both theme and Soundtrack. It's like I'm playing vice city again.

My only downside to it is the very tired and reused 'rogue secret government agency experiments' angle. I get that it's an homage to books and shows of that era, like firestarter, but I was getting bored of that plot line when I was reading firestarter.

And with all this talk of homage, there is more than a hint of the video game beyond 2 souls in this show.
