I started this thread on the old board and figured I would resurrect it. This is a place to post movies or shows that you find on Netflix or Amazon (or another) streaming services that you can recommend.

Shameless (UK version) - This is a long running UK show but those of us in the States may not be familiar with it (although there is a US version going on Showtime nowadays). This is a hysterically funny comedy/drama that is about a large family living in the same house. There is a single alcoholic dad with 8 kids. Dad is kind of useless and the household is more or less run by the older kids. I'm only 5 or 6 episodes in but it is very good. I'm struggling a little with the dialog. It takes a little while to process the English slang words and figure out what they mean but I'm learning.

Shameless (TV Series 2004– ) - IMDb

I discovered a Brit cop show that I'm really liking! It's called Line of Duty, and the main actor is Lenny James (Morgan on Walking Dead, amongst other things). Really, really good show

Just watched the pilot of a show called The After, by Chris Carter (of The X Files fame), on Amazon (UK's) streaming service. (It used to be called LoveFilm, but Amazon bought it a while back and has now rebranded the LoveFilm Instant streaming service to Amazon Instant Video.)
Have to say I was pretty impressed with it. The profanity is a bit overdone in places (though there's a tacit acknowledgement of such within the show) and, right now, there's just a single ep - the pilot - available, since it's done by Amazon Studios and they've run it up the flagpole to see who salutes, but there was enough about it to make me want to see more - hence the shout out. ;)

Also, check out the pilot episode for "Bosch" based on Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch books. I assume there is a series coming soon but all that is on Amazon right now is the pilot and it's good.

I saw it was available and kind of 'put it behind my ear'. The only one of Michael Connelly's books I've read is The Poet. Don't know why because I was pretty impressed with it when I first read it way back when.
But anyway, I'll check the pilot ep out, cheers.
