If we are speaking SK, I've been a Constant Reader since 1975 and I've read everything except Dreamcatcher. I've tried 3 times but cannot get more than halfway through it.

I've never read Thinner, Dreamcatcher (but I did see the movie. Are the eyebrows in the book? ) or Lisey's Story.
I remember these books fondly. It's a shame that the stories within didn't live up to such nightmarish imagery.
I admit, with much painful regret, that I am a very slow reader. I'm still stuck on The Shining, and there are countless other books and short stories I've been meaning to read. Some of them, I dread for various reasons. I almost finished Misery, but it got so intense for me I had to stop. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise, as I really began to love Stephen's work after that. After I break out of the Overlook with Wendy and Danny, I'll give it another shot.
One work of Stephen's I'm hesitant about even starting is Cujo. I love my dog so much, and with my history of depression, it would be a recipe for disaster. It just sounds so bleak and heartbreaking.

I've read Rose Madder but can't remember anything about it. (It's kind of weird because I can remember at least the basics of all of the SK books I've read except for this one. Obviously it didn't leave much of an impression on me, good or bad)

Those massive sheets of hair above Morgan Freeman's eyes are definitely NOT in the book.I've never read Thinner, Dreamcatcher (but I did see the movie. Are the eyebrows in the book? ) or Lisey's Story.

...UTD is not a personal favorite, but don't let the pathetic TV adaptation ruin a good read.....I love animals too but I read Pet Sematary and Cujo pretty early on, though I had already seen the films for both. While I plan to read all of King's books one day (I've only read between 35-40 novels/collections), there aren't any I refuse to read. There are some that I'll get around to later rather than sooner because I'm not as motivated. Under The Dome for example, I've heard bad things but I'll get to it sometime. And Christine because I've seen the movie to death over the years, but some other members have told me I should fix that soon and I plan to. Every time I've put off one of his books for one (usually dumb) reason or another it turned out to be so much better than I expected. I was that way with 11/22/63 (I'm from Dallas and get tired of hearing about it), The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon (title sounded sappy and I didn't know who Tom Gordon was) and The Running Man (No Dynamo? No Richard Dawson? No thanks!) are a few I felt stupid for delaying. And then there's Thinner, I didn't care for the movie however I think I read the book almost 20 years ago but I can't remember a damn thing about it. So I figure I have to read it again, but because I didn't like the movie and suspect I already read the thing it will probably wait until after I've read everything else.

I actually haven't seen the TV adaptation, it's just word of mouth from people who have read the book. Or at least say they've read the book but they could just be talking about the TV show.

*shudders*
I think that is dryer lint. He must have been cleaning the lint filter and some of the lint got airborne and stuck on his head.
Dreamcatcher Mr. King wrote longhand after his unfortunate, um, accident. I bet it's the "sh-t weasels" which keep you from finishing it.If we are speaking SK, I've been a Constant Reader since 1975 and I've read everything except Dreamcatcher. Not really though I dislike that aspect as well. I just don't like the story in general. I was working for the publisher at the time it was published and was very eager to read it from the get go but so disappointed in the story and writing. I just have a mental block with this one. One day though...Dreamcatcher Mr. King wrote longhand after his unfortunate, um, accident. I bet it's the "sh-t weasels" which keep you from finishing it.
