Porch sitting is the bane of my existence at the home improvement center. We offer three wooden outdoor rocking chairs… exactly the same in black, white and wood grain. The corporate geniuses decided this year to put the displays on a shelf that sits about 8 feet high and are banded to the shelves with big cable ties. When I first saw the display I told the manager it was stupid as nobody ever buys a rocking chair without first trying it out, and we’ll have to keep climbing up on ladders, cutting the cable ties and bring them down so the old ladies can rock out. I finally had enough the other week when an elderly woman had me bring one down to try out... so I brought down the back one. Then she said she wanted to try out the white one. I told her they are exactly the same, and you had to assemble them anyway, so trying another one out makes no difference. She said she wanted to see how she looked in the white one. :facepalm_smiley: I nearly snapped. Afterward I decided to put the black one out on the floor as a display and told the manager if anyone puts it back on the shelf I would break their arms. It’s still on the floor, and I’m a hero to the other workers in the department who also had to deal with the corporate stupidity.

Wolf Bear , here is another thread I think you might enjoy. :)
There is some really NICE writing throughout these pages.
It's an example of what we are discussing in the thread "New poems online" on the Ka-tet playground.
I'm sure Doc Creed will want to come read what we've been doing in that thread when he returns.
And I am sure he will contribute too.
One of my favorite posts about a memory, is his very first post on page one.
