The other year when we sponsored a German exchange student she talked about having turkey as she’d never had it before. The next day when I was taking the kids to school I pulled over on the side of the road as there was a flock of turkeys in the field. I told her if she wanted turkey to run out and grab one. She looked at me like I really meant it. We did have turkey for dinner one evening but she didn't care for it.
A Scot would have grabbed every chicken in that farm! LOL. It wasn't a farm. They were wild turkeys in a plowed corn field. The day before a herd of whitetail deer were running along side of the car for awhile on the way to school. You could have reached out and grabbed one. She thought that was fun. She also asked me if there were any bear in the area. I said sure, we often have black bear come in the yard. She was shocked and asked me if I had a gun for protection against them. I said I did but wouldn't use it unless the bear shot first. I guess it's true sometimes what they say about Germans and humor.
Probably would have found every other turkey in the state while we were at it!

I've had German friends over the years, they taught me some other words, but I wouldn't be allowed to say them!That`s a lot.

Pilgrims, schmilgrims. Stuffing is made inside the bird. Filling is made in a glass casserole pan. So it is written so it shall be done.
Yes, we press it into a baking pan, and cut it into squares when it comes out of the oven.Sliced??!!

Don't you go getting soft on me, now. Filling/Stuffing/And-whatever- those- crazy- southerners- call- it must never be sliced. Spooned is the proper etiquette.There you go.
