We are planning on going home to Nebraska, all of us and Brandon and Marti and the kiddos too. We haven't been home for a holiday in 5 or 6 years, between schedules and weather or what have you. So hopefully the plans pan out.

Oh you know it! That dude is going up during the thanksgiving holiday. I want to do him right now. Right now! But, out of respect for my kid who is appalled at the idea, I will refrain.

But, he's sitting out in the garage in his box, calling my name....

Sage said to me a little bit ago, "Gramma! This weekend is Christmas!" I said, "No, Christmas is still almost 2 months away." Her little face fell so fast and so hard I felt bad!

Apparently Marti is in the Christmas decorating spirit already, too. I think that's what Sage meant, that they will be decorating this weekend.

Not me...I'm going to wait as long as possible. Our Miss Cookie is going to tear up the tree and any decorations she can get her little Cookie paws on. She is like having another toddler around!

Noooo, not a nightmare -- a glorious season of scampering frivolity! She's doing her part to make sure you get enough exercise.

My brother had a cat that would climb to the top of the tree and wait for him to walk by, and then pounce on his head. Mom would get so mad, but all I could do was sit and laugh.

My MIL had a cat that would crawl up in the tree and just sit there and observe. It was very unsettling when you realized that you were being watched. by a cat. plotting against you.

Noooo, not a nightmare -- a glorious season of scampering frivolity! She's doing her part to make sure you get enough exercise.

I think maybe we'll just set up the tree and not decorate it for a few days and see what she does. I may have to settle for some bows here and there and call it good!

Suggestion-- put up your tree and let it be decoration free for awhile. Add house decoration a few at a time. Cookie will lose interest and you'll be fine by Christmas.
