That's good to hear. I am saddened at how few of my friends still read. I say "still" because I've noticed it's been decreasing to almost 0 in recent years.
And that's no abstract observation - I did the same thing. I noticed I had totally stopped reading somewhat recently. My now-wife once saw me reading a few years back and asked me why I was doing it. It made my head spin. All I used to do growing up is read!
Now there's so much excellent entertainment available to me through my television . . . . It's just so much easier. And it's not like it was when I was growing up where it would amount to "Why are you watching this episode of X for the millionth time? READ A BOOK!" .... Because X is no longer terrible nonsense - there's TONS of good writing on TV. If you haven't seen Black Mirror on Netflix, check it out as an excellent example.
If you can get your hands on the scripts/teleplays (there are ways...), those are just as good. In fact, a professor friend of mine who teaches film studies is using the scripts and the shows as evidence of what, exactly, a director does (Pro Tip: Watch the film/show/whatever on mute - that's what the director did).
Been trying to get back into reading lately because my wife is going back to school in the spring, so there's going to have to be Forced Quiet Time
