The End of the Whole Mess

New member here, but an SK fan since 1979 at 12 and my first reading of Carrie. I've read maybe not quite all, but almost of the assorted works, screenplays, etc. I'm going to apologize for any outrageous stupidity I may utter in my newbie status as a poster here. I've had this question in my mind since the 1990s. In The End of the Whole Mess, there is a sequence where Bobby builds an airplane on a Radio Flyer wagon. In Radio Flyer, a genius child named Bobby builds an identical airplane which flys as well. In the movie the children are abused by a terrible stepfather which is different that the SK story, but, however, the stepfather insists on being referred to as "The King". There is also a nod in Radio Flyer to a legendary "kid" who did this similar fwat. Does anyone know if these two are related ? I'm very sorry if this is an old and previously discussed item, but I've tried to do due diligence in researching this question, and cannot find an answer. The screenplay credits and scripts mention nothing. Thank you.

I haven't seen the movie but Stephen's story was written and published before the film was produced so it's possible the producers/screenwriter were giving a nod to him.
