Nope--you were right. Their dad was a detective & Nancy Drew's dad was a lawyer :)
You don't mean you still have them! With my limited bookspace i had to let them go. Still have some Blyton, Biggles and Three investigators though. i for one will never let go of the early days. Some evenings, when the brain is tired and you don't feel like anything i take forward one of those to see me to bed.

Nope, those are long gone. I have a couple of Three Investigators books left, though, and the Trixie Beldens are on my daughter's shelf :) I still have (and re-read) The Swiss Family Robinson, Heidi, A Secret Garden, A Little Princess, Kidnapped, and Treasure Island. Oh, and Harry Potter is non-negotiable--those will stay on the shelf forever.

Then, of course i forget, the most natural child book authoress for every swedish child in my generation (and before and after too for that matter. Astrid Lindgren. Pippi Longstocking you call her most known creation in english i think but she has written so many good books for children. Still have some of hers.

I still have those, too :) The part where Pippi is making pepparkakor made my daughter laugh so hard she got sick--lol. I love Pippi. Those were the first books that made me want to visit Sweden, and I still want to :)

Have you read any of her more a little longer novels. Pippi is short stories i mean. Like Ronja, the Robbers daughter or The Brothers Lionheart? Emil of Lönneberga, Madicken and Mio, My Mio (perhaps Mio, my son in english) were also really good. If you havent i can recommend them. The first two to most people that can read books. The rest perhaps mostly for your kids. Just a thought.

Thank you! I've only read Pippi and her picture books (to my little ones). I'll look for the others :)
