The snowball bush in my sister's front yard. The hydrangeas are in that greenish stage before the blooms turn white.
I love hydrangeas - they also remind me of Queen Anne's Lace which I suppose is technically a weed but still quite pretty and lacy

Is there already a thread dedicated to gardening?

I'm being more proactive with my gardening, despite my fear of killing anything I stick in the dirt. My mom had two green thumbs, my brother and sister can grow stuff, but usually, plants come to my house to die. But Tall Guy's grandmother gave us a bunch of plants from her yard, and I've managed not to kill them off. So I bought some Angel Trumpet tree seeds that I've got in pots with miracle grow dirt. I'm delighted to say that I've got a few sprouts. If they thrive and mature, they'll look like this:

Wish me luck.

What's in your garden?

Have never seen one of those--it's beautiful! Good luck--hope it gets to look like the picture someday!

We've been planting the "bottoms" of lettuce, celery, asparagus, leeks since I read that (duh!) they will take root and produce a whole new plant. So we have a half-barrel full of those. The cukes, zucchini and tomatoes are in and going great. The citrus trees (which some of you may remember as wee things) are happy in their new home. I'll post a few pics soon. They are blooming right now and the little sunroom where they live smells amazing! It's really nice having our own lemons and limes (and a few oranges). Plus there are the herbs - mint, thyme, basil, chives, lavender, garlic - a few of which have gone perennial from annual living in the sunroom.

So we're doing very well. Good thing, too as I feel a food shortage coming on, especially for fresh fruits and vegetables. :(

As promised, pictures. "Salad bowl," lemon, lime, orange, mints.
