I think I might have grieved myself to death over the recent passing of my father had it not been for ...TOM GORDON. The work has given me a great deal of comfort--hard to explain why, but it has. I will be forever grateful for this book. I carry it with me, and feel if Trisha can make it out of the woods--so can I. My heart is full with gratitude to Mr. King.

Welcome to the SK family, Natalie. Losing a parent is so difficult, and I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad that you find this book a comfort, even in some small way to help you work through your grief. God Bless.

So sorry for your loss and so moved by your words. Stephen King helps me to fight cancer. His books are the best medicine.

I`m in the same situation as Staro, my dear. This place keeps me sane most days. If you come back often, and I`m sure you will, you are going to find that they are the kindest, most caring and loving people you will ever have the privilege of knowing. Take care..

...her words ring true...the love here is balm to a sore spirit and extra sunshine to an already happy day...I love so many here, and have felt the love in return...that's why getting to meet so many has been a real treasure...

Welcome to the board, Natalie. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know the pain of grief all too well, and if a story can ease yours even slightly this is nothing but good. In my experience, the comfort of friends is even more of a balm to the wounded spirit. Some of the people here became friends very quickly when I came here. If you let them, I suspect they would be happy to do the same for you.
