From the good ol Midwest
Hello again friends! We were gone a long time. It's good to be back.

Becks19 hugs to you and your family - best wishes to you at the job
Lepplady I haven't had a thigh gap since I was 8. It's hard to eat healthy when you don't have your kitchen and kitchen things. You got this! I'm shocked that people comment on it. I would never ever make a negative comment about someone's appearance. It makes me wonder what is lacking in them that they need to make someone else feel bad. Fek em!
Neesy that's shockingly cold! How do you like your Lulu Lemons? I'm taking myself shopping soon.
Thank you. It looks like my first day is going to be smack dab in the middle of a Winter Storm...Why does that not surprise me? Hugs and best wishes to you all. Stay safe and warm.

This is the style I prefer but according to the place at Polo Park you can only buy this style online now. They were called the Groove pant.

Now the closest thing you can find to this is called the Throwback pant - it just does not fit the same plus the two back seams are gone now.

Oh well - what ya gonna do, eh?

Andy bought me three pairs of yoga leggings which I returned. I ended up exchanging them for three pairs of the Throwback pant which I guess I will just have to get used to!

Yeah - :rugby: It's cold but according to Andy it is much colder up in Baker Lake so it does not bother him much

We had an educational day at work today regarding equality between men and women. not just paywise but also how expectations can be very different depending on what gender you belong to and how youre treated. First a lecture (2,5 hour long!), then lunch, then small group discussions on different aspects of it and then a gathering where the different groups results were compared and comments on them. My main negative comment is that the chairs we had to sit on during the lecture was uncomfortable and made my behind ache!!! Otherwise it was at least partly interesting even if most of it were obvious points but is probably necessary to keep the thought alive.

But now i'm home. Its Friday!!!

Happy Friday!!

Been a day full of rest for me. I finally start to feel a bit better, even if I last night suddenly got fever. But I took medicine and the fever was gone this morning. But my mom baked a birthday cake for me, so I got something good to eat.

Has snowing on/off today, but not too cold, only -2C.

Have a great weekend and take care of you. Stay safe!!

Becks19 - Good luck at the job.

Positive thoughts to all who need it here on the board.

Sounds like fun Kurben - is this a backlash because of all the publicity lately regarding sexual harassment?

I'm seriously considering starting a new loaf of bread here - with our frigid temperatures outside it just seems like a good idea to have some fresh bread baking in the oven.

One nice thing I did like about being in the military - the women got the same pay as the men (unfortunately you had to learn to be "one of the boys"):confused:

No, it has nothing to do with that. It is not so much to do with harassment and more how we, on a professional basis, often treat people different depending on what sex they belong to. Not just people coming to the court but also people working at the court. Its part of the way we have these preconceived notions of men and women and if we gonna treat people eqaul we need to be aware of those notions and treat them as people. It has happened for example that a young female judge hears condescending expressions (not anything sexual at all, just belittling her because she is young and female) from her older, male underjudges (a kind of likeness to juries in the swedish system but these are educated for the work). This is a process that has been going on for many years so has nothing to do with me too. And, BTW, this "one of the boys" thing is one of the things that does not have any place in this way of looking at things. You are you, you should not have to learn to be somebody else.

I was in the military from 1980 until 2001 and I saw a lot of changes; most were for the better.

It's probably hard for younger people to understand how different things were back then. I am just so glad that I did my 21 years and got out early enough that I could transition to a civilian job.

Everything changed after September 11, 2001 so it's hard for me to comment on what is going on there now.

I'm glad to hear that your workplace participates in this kind of training - sounds like a great place to be!
