Thank you so much! Yes, I'v been dead busy this summer! I took a whole term's worth of classes (15 credits), most of them in the second half of the term. SO MANY ASSIGNMENTS. I finished my last final on Monday (YAY!), now that it's time to go back to work again at my new school. So far I have all As (I'm not good at getting anything less), but I suspect that a professor with whom I had a problem right at the end of the term might torpedo me, and I'll have to take that up with the dean. I'm going to attempt to take 13 hours this term, on top of work. I have to take advantage of the FAFSA that I won't get after this year.

BTW, for those I talked with about the "Most Influential Musician in the last 3 decades" paper I had to writer for the History of Rock and Roll (the best class EVER), after a lot of research I chose Eminem :)
You are amazing!!

That was a brilliant choice for most influential musician!

I'd like to say "take it easy" since the term is over, but I guess work will be starting for you any day now - if you're not already back at it! So I'll say "Peace be with you" .

My office was closed today for

I celebrated by cleaning house all day.

And it has to be presentable - which means I don't let anyone put anything on timeline - some of my best friends are totally inappropriate - I love them that way. I've thought of starting one under a pseudonym, so I could let it all hang out. But, nah.

Oh, hey - I had a new employee in my office on Monday - getting keys, learning the ropes - . And I've got the Big Little Lies soundtrack on Spotify. And then that Martha Wainwright song comes on: Bloody MFin' @$$hole .... Guys, I work in a church. I fumbled for the mute spot. I don't know if she noticed. Meh. The priest is pretty cool. I'll recover. Worst case: she knows how classy I am now

Brag alert!!!
I’ve been with Weight Watchers one week (weigh in tomorrow), and I’ve lost seven pounds.
The hardest thing for me is planning ahead. (And cutting down on and switching to light beer)....:very_drunk:
I’ve been working out every day and I can actually see a difference. The shorts I bought for the Kon are getting loose!
I also feel better, which may be mental or I may actually be reaping health benefits...

Damn!! Keep up the good work! Congratulations and don't be too hard on yourself.

Hello everybody!
It`s been a while since I last posted, but it`s been a long and busy year so far.
New changes to the board too, eh? I hope I`ll adjust to them fast.
Well, I finished my novel and at the moment the editing is being done in Belgrade, Serbia, I`m not sure yet about the publishing date. Really happy about that, it took me a while but I got there. Once it gets published, there is the task then of translating it into English and trying my luck out with publishing it here and that will not be easy, of course. Even the translating is not easy, it is very hard to translate something faithfully so the story won`t get lost in all that. But, I will try and see how it goes.
Also busy on writing new stories for a new collection, been posting those stories on FB to see how people react and so far, so good, people seem to like them.
We also went for vacation to the old country and it was really epic, my kiddo finally got to meet both of her grandmothers, my sisters, my wife`s sisters as well and LOTS of cousins from both sides. She really enjoyed it and improved her Serbian as well a lot. She understands all of it anyway, but it was harder for her to speak, it takes a while until she gets the sentences and grammar in her head right, and she is a very shy kid to begin with, but now it`s really, really good.
Downside is, once school starts again, she`ll be talking English only, except with me and my wife, so...but, all right, I`ll take what I can get.
We went to visit a lot of places, spent almost all the time outside in the beautiful nature, my hometown is in the mountains and surrounded by woods. And there is a beautiful lake nearby, it`s as good as a natural wonder, that`s how beautiful it is. Lots of hiking, barbecuing and just truly relaxing, which was hard though from time to time, because many cities are still full of ruins, 23 years after the civil war has ended, so that brought back some sad memories.
But all in all, it was the best vacation I ever had in my life, there is no price tag on seeing your kid bonding with family, simply unforgettable.
When we came back though, 3 weeks ago, we started battling bedbugs. I don`t know how we picked them up, maybe in the bus or plane or they got into our luggage somehow, but MAN! what a pain in the butt they are! Literally. We had our apartment treated once already, but the vampires are still there eating me alive. Unreal how hard it is to get rid of them. Tomorrow we are gonna have a second treatment, hopefully with better results this time, we really had enough of them and it breaks my heart how much my kid suffers, but there is not much we can do, we went to the doctor, got a cream for all 3 of us, I even got antibiotics because I had an infection going, but that`s about as much as you can do, besides trying to keep the house spotless, vacuuming twice a day and stuff, but only chemicals really help here. Hoping for the best.
How are you, my friends, how is your summer so far?
Love and lights. :)

Good news about your family visit. Know you have desired that for a long time. Much success with the book. May a permanent solution be found for getting rid of the bed bugs. Healing vibes for the problems they have caused.

That's wonderful that your entire family got to go back to Serbia!

I'm really proud of you for finishing the book. The translation will come--you've got the hardest part done already. Good luck for finding a way to publish it and I wish you much success once that happens!

Ugh, bedbugs. Have only had to deal with scabies and lice which kids brought home with them but it does turn your house upside down trying to get rid of them once and for all. Hope that second treatment will do the trick.

Thank you all for the warm words.
Yeah, those bed bugs was not something we wanted to happen after such a wonderful vacation, it brought the mood down, but what can you do.
Hopefully we will get rid of them starting tomorrow since it takes a while for the chemicals to kill them all.
Hope you are all well.
:)

I knew you could do it! Be proud of yourself, that is so much hard work. You have sacrificed for this in many ways I'm sure. Must be time to breathe
before Round 2. So happy for you.

Srbo, It's wonderful you and your family got to see Serbia, especially for your daughter.

Congratulations on finishing your novel. I will look forward to reading the translation one day. You could probably write another novel about the terror of bed bugs, just kidding!

Anyway, good to see you back.
