Good morning,

Last day of summer for us. School starts tomorrow. :(

Spent most of Friday at the junior high, with Alison. It was her orientation. They do a mock day, so the kiddos have a so-so idea of where they are going. Meet the teachers, get a quick run down of the classes. It was only for incoming 7th graders.

She did fine, was her bubbly self until we got in the car to come home, then she had a little breakdown. None of her little circle of friends is in any of her classes. No one she knows at all until afternoon. It is a big change, going from just a few rooms with pretty much the same faces to a huge 3 story building. She has classes on all the floors. I was fighting tears, trying to encourage her! I had dreams all Friday night about endless hallways. I am sure she will adapt quickly but I am going to worry about her. Her 7th grade class is 320 kids. So that, will roughly be the size of her graduating class. My class was a whopping 26 kids, including me!

Hope you all have a great Monday. I have the various normal chores, going to the courthouse with Evan today to pay the taxes and get his plates on his car and Miss Sage will be here this afternoon. Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I took Alex and my dog, Sammy, on a nice little Sunday hike in Pawtuckaway State Park. It was in Nottingham, NH, and talk about your dirt roads! I turned down one, then that led to an even more questionable road....long story short, we found a nice little trail and did a three mile hike. Here’s a photo I took of Alex and I on it6B6AE9B1-0822-4754-A669-EAC29C9C90D3.jpeg

How old is Alison? Junior high must be fraught with tension for many. I hope she can adjust and take it all in stride - sending positive vibes that all will go well for her.

Sounds like fun! Hope your diet is going well - by the way you SHOULD NOT feel like you are starving on Weight Watchers - after the first week your weight loss should be around 1 or 2 pounds a week. Otherwise it sounds like you are not eating enough. Good luck and don't worry about the coworker bringing in treats. Just bring fresh fruit or a treat that you know you can count the points on.

That’s what I did today: mixed berries with nonfat yogurt!

wow! that is a lot of kids. And I totally am right there with her and you on that no friends in her class for a while. Oh my lord, that happened to me at that age and I can feel that anxiety. But, it worked out and I made new friends and saw my old ones too and I learned that I was going to be okay. She will be okay too and you too cat!
