Calming vibes and hugs cat in a bag . Big changes. Ali will make new friends. Sending her calming vibes too.
Sending good vibes to Ali and you!! She'll be fine but it's a tough rite of passage! (((Ali and Cat)))

Thank you!!

wow! that is a lot of kids. And I totally am right there with her and you on that no friends in her class for a while. Oh my lord, that happened to me at that age and I can feel that anxiety. But, it worked out and I made new friends and saw my old ones too and I learned that I was going to be okay. She will be okay too and you too cat!

Tons of kids! There will be 660 kids running around tomorrow morning, when you add in the 8th graders.

It is a little better than when Brandon went through, we had 2 junior highs (7-9 grades) that merged into one high school for 10-12 grades. So Brandon's class was around 590 kids! But we have 2 high schools now, so one jr high (only 7th and 8th now) feeds into one high school for 9-12 and the other junior high feeds into the other high school.

Thank you, too!

I've been adding berries to Sangria and making slashes out of the mixture. Pretty awesome! Carry on!
:applause: Impressive!

Good morning,

Last day of summer for us. School starts tomorrow. :(

Spent most of Friday at the junior high, with Alison. It was her orientation. They do a mock day, so the kiddos have a so-so idea of where they are going. Meet the teachers, get a quick run down of the classes. It was only for incoming 7th graders.

She did fine, was her bubbly self until we got in the car to come home, then she had a little breakdown. None of her little circle of friends is in any of her classes. No one she knows at all until afternoon. It is a big change, going from just a few rooms with pretty much the same faces to a huge 3 story building. She has classes on all the floors. I was fighting tears, trying to encourage her! I had dreams all Friday night about endless hallways. I am sure she will adapt quickly but I am going to worry about her. Her 7th grade class is 320 kids. So that, will roughly be the size of her graduating class. My class was a whopping 26 kids, including me!

Hope you all have a great Monday. I have the various normal chores, going to the courthouse with Evan today to pay the taxes and get his plates on his car and Miss Sage will be here this afternoon. Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:
...change like this is always intimidating, but soon the routine will smooth the nerves and her circle of friends will expand......

Wishing Alison all the best for middle school!! ♥ We don't have middle schools here.
All the elementary schools are K-8th grade and the one high school is 9-12. Usually grades 6-8 are in a different wing than the younger ones, and then they get tossed into the high school with about 900 other incoming freshmen. It's total chaos for the first couple of months, but everyone adjusts.
This is the Munchkin's senior year.....I can't believe how fast the time has gone.
Enjoy it, CAT.....and have a glass of wine now and then. You know, to calm your nerves..... :biggrin2:
