I expected there would be a few "survivors" who didn't reach the end of the story. The "happy ending" I was referring to was the euphoric state of mind they were in at the close of the story. :)
Thats true. Didn't think of that. Just wondered what the authorities would say. They speak as if they would just accept all of it like if they were just reporting a car theft or something.

Do you think tearing up paper is a real thing to relieve anxiety? Or did SK just make it up?
No idea. But i know i had the bad habit as a child of tearing off the backs of my books. So tearing can probably be a bad habit in grown life too. But relieving anxiety...?
A lot of anxiety disorders are coupled with a touch of some Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I think the particulars vary from person to person.

I still have like ten pages to read... did the young bearded man who slept throughout the trip ever discover what had happened?
Don't think so. Thats another reason for worry. He knows there were a lot of passengers to begin with and he won't believe them. I wouldn't believe a story like that had happened while i was asleep.

SK could've had a full-length novel if he would've continued to write about the after effects and the incredulous story the survivors tried to explain to the powers-that-be.

SK covered his tracks with this character since he thought he was experiencing withdrawals from alcohol (and possibly drugs?) and had been in rehab/detox before. The character had a "clouded" mind and wouldn't've been a believable source. He was tall and had dark hair and a beard - reminded me of how SK looked way back when! :)

I don't remember the bearded sleeper in the movie. That would have been a perfect role for SK :)

Clouded mind sure. But i think his memories of crowded plane goes better with the registers for who many people boarded the plane than any story tyhe survivors can come up with.

What do you say? About done with Langolliers? What about next week?
Ohmygosh! I just looked at the clock. This has been fun :)
Thanks for joining in! Continue to post your thoughts about the story if you'd like. I'm hoping to hear from VultureLvr45 , but we can start Secret Window, Secret Garden - maybe even finish it since it's only around 150 pages (I think).
