I'm always cautious about remakes. i'm not a remakefan, it is extremely rare that remakes are better. And this is a remake of a remake just brought up to date a little. Ill be happy if it is good and ill be very surprised if its great. Castwise it isnt close to the 1960 movie. But i will see it when available but wont run to the cinema to do it.

We watched bits and pieces of the 1960 show on AHC, or whatever it's called now (used to be the "Military Channel"). It was fun. Some of the scenes awkwardly or humorously dated, mostly in the sense of, "People who are shot don't act like that."

I just got back from seeing this movie. I loved it!! One of the best movies I have seen in a long time!
My favorite was Vincent D'onifrio in this. Such a good actor. Denzil Washington was perfect as the lead man in this I thought. Such a bada$$ !!
Now I have to wait for it to come out on DVD!

Alright then! I will give it a go. It's showing at our drive in and it's perfect drive in weather. Maybe I can get my husband to go with me.

good to hear you enjoyed it Pegasus , and our reviews were put in the fanboy gloom bin ;)

but do you not think they missed a trick with the whole theme tune being played at the end credits and not during the movie.

I had been waiting for it all the way through to get me all nostalgic and fired up -

after all, it was a remake , so why not use the original score.

thank you Sheemie and chris2-4 - I'm been awaiting reviews from like minded people. I love Westerns, I loved the original. Waiting for you to weigh in pegasus216 ! It's kind of sounding like I should wait for it on PPV.

hey, horses for courses - it just wasn't the feel good nostalgic movie I hoped for - but it's just an opinion.

it's already forgotten, like ghostbusters .
