I have been thoroughly enjoying the figure skating.

Tessa and Scott have been so beautiful to watch. I stayed up late to watch them last night. So glad I did. It’s the third time I’ve seen them perform that skate, and it was definitely their best.

Somewhere over the rainbow
:umm:
Watching the Olympics coverage on NBC,
Wondering how those who don't have "Pause" on their TV
Make it through commercial breaks; there's more of them than snow.
Would we watch if we could not "Fast Forward?" I don't know...

I would hate to miss the drama we've seen every night -
Thrilling moments, joy and heartbreak... Triumph for Shaun White -
All the strength and grace and beauty on the snow or ice...
But a couple dozen fewer ads would sure be nice.

I'd find it unwatchable without our D.V.R.
We delay the Games an hour and (at least so far)
We do not catch up until it's time to go to bed.
If we couldn't we'd be watching something else instead.

Michaela placed 4th! Between that and Chen falling in his short program is wasn't a good day for me.

Even worse, NBC Sports promised me curling but I only see hockey!
I have HULU live TV Tery, Curling seemed to be the event of the weekend, there was a bunch of it covered. I find the sport fascinating and I'm really trying to learn the rules. It's a really highly skilled type game and very interesting to watch.

So, sarcasm?

This is not the team we’ve sent for years though. NHL players were not allowed. (Personally, I don’t get how NHL players are considered amateur, but that might just be me.)

There have been a few instances where teams got silver medals and are sad and disappointed on the podium. I heard one of the women hockey players angrily removed her silver medal. I get it. You get that medal by losing a game. And the ice dancers that got silver, they looked disappointed (though not angry). They had just had the skate of their lives and got record breaking marks. And they held that record until the next skate....lost the record and the gold in an instant. And that does not take away from the amazing skate they just performed.

Anyway...I thought maybe that’s what the comment was about.

Kudos to all the athletes from Norway. A truly impressive performance over the whole span of the Olympics. I think it was 39 medals for them total and that beat the US records for overall medals by 2 or 3 from 2010 I heard. Norway dominated in several of the cross country skiing events I watched and it they were impressive. Congrats to the Norwegian team for a stellar performance.

I think Korea did an excellent job. Didn’t hear of difficulty getting to venues, or rooms not ready. Stands seemed a bit empty though. Hope they didn’t end up in to Deep a financial hole over this.

And speaking of Financial...I hope the Canadian Olympic Committee, or the three people involved step up and cover the damage done to the stolen hummer. (Assuming the damage was done when it was stolen and not prior.)
