Viggo is a good choice in my books too.

Clint is too old now but maybe his son - Scott?

From what I'm reading and seeing, I'd love to see two auditions posted up. Viggo and Anson Mount. I want to see how each actor interprets Roland, as every actor has their own unique style. I LOVE when I get to see auditions posted to YouTube, such as those for Game of Thrones. You can really see why and how each actor was selected for the role when they read the lines. You also see how they change and develop based upon the direction the director decides to go in!

So as it stands I am in agreement on either Viggo

OR

Anson Mount

Can't wait for the film though. Do any of you remember the part in "The Mist" where he's painting the canvas for The Dark Tower movie poster before it gets destroyed when the tree comes through the window? I always thought that was a cool little Easter Egg in that movie.

Is it just me or does anyone else want to see
the fifth movie just to see the part where Roland dances to an enthralled audience? Lol.
plus...it will be expensive to film
Roland's maimed hand after the Lobstrosity attack
If these are successful films and the entire series is eventually filmed, what do you anticipate the most? So many possibilities.

The only thing that matters is whether or not the person they cast has acting prowess. So many wonderful movies have been ruined by HORRIBLE actors. It's a shame.

Is it just me, or is it wrong to hope they make all 7 movies? If not all 7, then at least not cramming an entire 7-book (8 if you count Wind Through The Keyhole) into a single movie. Book one would be relatively easy to compress in with book #2. Book 3 is a little more expansive (book 3 is also my favorite and not just because of the T.S. Eliot reference). Book 4 goes into Roland's backstory in becoming a gunslinger and is so very crucial. It's why the comic book series starts THERE instead of with the books themselves. Then you have the final 3 books, which all three are MASSIVE.

Perhaps they could make 3 lengthy movies handled like Peter Jackson handled The Lord of the Rings. I won't mention The Hobbit series, I just... I can't lol. I'm a huge Tolkien fan as well. Whatever ka wills I suppose, everything follows the beam (but if the beam could guide them into making the damn movies right I'd be super grateful, thankee-sai)

No idea who the blond is (lol). Aidan Turner is very pretty and he can act, but seems too young for Roland. Cumberbatch has the weird face, that's for sure (and can also act).

Another actor I just thought of is Michael Fassbinder. He was pretty good in the movie Centurion. I'd have Elba as the Crimson guy. I'd also try to find a role for that actress in Centurion who you wouldn't want to mess with.

I think Fassbinder could be good, too.
