Just read the revised edition of The Stand, and here I am, a fan all over again. I loved it. I loved the first one, and thought I'd read it again and see how I feel as an older woman, yet, despite the 1400+ pages, I didn't want it to end. King, as I always felt, is an excellent writer, and and excellent story teller. I am now embarking on The Dark Tower series. May you live forever Steven King and write into infinity.

Welcome to the Board! We all feel that way ;)
Welcome to the board! The Stand is my favorite too. I'm glad you are here. Apparently we all have to finish reading the DT series now. I've read the first three books before and they were good but very different. I downloaded the audiobook of The Gunslinger; care to join me?
That entire thread was hilarious and I quoted it wrong as usual. Still :a11::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I read the revised first, way back when I was a wee bar'n. It blew my frickin head off. Still probably the best book I've ever read. Years later I read the truncated original, thought...oh hell no! They left out this part, and that part, and...

Aw hell, I'm gonna haveta take it down from the shelf and read it again. Chills, goosebumps, yer bugger...
