Long time Stones fan here. My favorite song(s) is a tie between Miss You and Time (is on my side). Favorite album, hands down by a long shot is Some Girls. Coincidentally, I just bought a mint, 2nd pressing copy of it on vinyl today. A good friend gave me a pretty bad-ass Audio Technica turntable for Xmas along with an "Original Masters Series" early 80's repress of Abbey Road. I also bought a brand new copy of the 200g vinyl pressing from original analog master tapes of Hendrix's "Are You Experienced?"

But I can't wait to get home tonight and put the needle on that copy of Some Girls.

Oh yeah. I've seen the Stones 4 times. First two times were on the Steel Wheels Tour in October of 89. Saw them back to back nights at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The next time was in October 1997 at their first ever appearance in Oklahoma when they played OU's Memorial Stadium. That was on the Bridges to Babylon tour. At that one I actually got to briefly meet and shake hands with Mick, Keith and Ron Wood (I went to college there and knew some folks that managed the stadium). The last time was on the A Bigger Bang Tour. This was October of 2005 in Tampa at the Times Forum. So I guess about every 8 years, in October, I go see the Stones. LOL

I've seen them once and it was on the Tattoo You tour. I remember George Thorogood and Joe Ely were two of the opening acts. There were several opening acts. On that tour, they basically did an all day concert with all the opening acts. I read that Prince was one of the opening acts on that tour but I have no idea if I saw him or not (would not have known who he was at the time).

I saw them in 75, 78 and 81. All in the San Francisco bay area. All amazing. In 81 I saw them with George Throughgood and the J Geils Band. Amazing. In 78 it was Santana and a host of others. I really can't remember who opened in 75. No other band has ever come close to equaling them in concert.

I'm more of a prog-rock guy. I do appreciate the Stones (and Beatles). In fact, I appreciate them more than I actually like them.

That being said, no one had better song intros than the Stones. Satisfaction, Jumping Jack Flash, Gimme Shelter... just some great riffs to segue to the songs. Really masterful.
