It has been so hard to come up with a villain who connects to the larger mythology but I think it's finally happening. My comic started as a kind of "What if the Scooby-Doo gang fought horrifying monsters instead of unmasking people? How would they deal with the type of monsters you find in a Stephen King book or even The Evil Dead?" But now ithe project is its own animal with some very unique characters. The setup is basically a group of misfits who travel around the Midwest in a bus fighting various monsters. I hope this thing gets made and catches on because it is a project near and dear to my heart.

It sounds right up my alley. I would be remiss if I didn't ask you to post a first chapter...

It's written out longhand, I've never typed up any of my stories, but I guess i'll have to learn how . One of my biggest influences on this project is Ghostbusters, that style of comedy where the monsters and ghosts are played straight and the comedy comes from the characters' reactions to them.

Stephen's lawyers have asked that we don't allow folks to post original work to the MB, however it's fine to place a link here in the Self Promotion area of the board so that people can go to view your work elsewhere if they choose.

That's very sad I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this.

I'm holding it together now but I don't know how i'll react when I have to say goodbye to him. i'm dreading that moment, I'm not even going with my mom when she takes him to the vet to have it done, I don't want to see him like that. I have to keep telling myself that he's old and not in great shape and that he's going to a better place.

He's being put to sleep next week and I just want to do something that shows much I loved him and how happy our 14 years together was. I plan on throwing myself into my work when he's gone and getting some long developed projects finished.
So sorry to hear this. His spirit will live on in your heart. Pain free and running over the Rainbow Bridge. May you find inner peace.

His name is Ren, after Ren & Stimpy. That show is the reason I begged my mom and dad to get me a Chihuahua, and the funny thing is that he kind of has the same personality as Ren from that show. My parents got him for me when I was in 8th grade and i'm 25 going on 26 now, it's been a long time.

I send good energy to you and Ren.

Sound kinda Twilight Zone-nish to me. H. P. Lovecraft has some really cool horror story premises he composed but never finished writing. You might want to check those out.

As hard as it is to say good-bye, you're doing the right thing to end Ren's suffering. I've been stupid and let a couple of my furry children suffer because some money hungry Vet gave me hope that meds would help instead of telling me it was time to let go. You will cry but Ren is worth the tears :)

...well, considering number 2 was written by Ray Bradbury-you might want to veer off in another direction.....

What was the name of that story? I bought a book that has a hundred Ray Bradbury stories and I've been reading it off and on but I haven't come across that story yet.
