Sound kinda Twilight Zone-nish to me. H. P. Lovecraft has some really cool horror story premises he composed but never finished writing. You might want to check those out.

I'm thrilled you said that because a lot of these stories were inspired by The Twilight Zone and H.P. Lovecraft, in fact, the second story I described is inspired by The Whisperer in Darkness. I've been thinking of including these stories in a collection called Tales From the Outer Zone, but I don't know if it will be a comic or a novel yet.

What was the name of that story? I bought a book that has a hundred Ray Bradbury stories and I've been reading it off and on but I haven't come across that story yet.

Ah, my title was actually inspired by an unmade X-Files episode Dark He Was and Golden Eyed. I got the idea for the story from one night while I was home alone, I was walking through the hallway and my mom and stepdad's bedroom door was open with the lights out, as I was looking into the darkness I said to myself "What would I do if I saw a pair of golden eyes floating in the darkness?" That idea kept me up that night.

When I was a kid I spent a lot of time in mental hospitals (yes, there are mental hospitals for kids) and there was one in particular that had this spooky name: Shadow Mountain, and I must say the place really lived up to its name. It was one of the scariest places I've ever had to stay, they threw me in with the real crazies even though I was only there because I had had some traumatic stuff happen to me and was acting out because of it. I won't tell you some of the horror stories about that place here but if you're interested in hearing just message me. Anyway, the Shadow Mountain mental hospital will be in everything I write, sometimes just mentioned, sometimes actually shown. The first volume of my comic has Henry (the main character) investigating something in the place even though the place terrifies him because he had to stay there as a child and some very bad things happened to him there, those things won't be revealed until later. The Shadow mountain in my stories is very different from the real one, the one in my stories is a high-tech maximum security asylum (well, the adult section of the place is maximum security. I even have the idea that when I write volume 6 and the story jumps ahead to present day Henry's worst fear has come true and he's locked up in the maximum security section of the building. Sorry about the long post, i'm feeling very creative tonight.

Religiously_Unkind, you have 4 separate threads in the Self Promotion area of the message board now, so I'm just going to merge them together so that you can talk about your projects in the one place.
Please remember to not post too much in the way of story lines and plots, as Stephen's lawyers ask that we don't allow that type of material here in the threads. (these sorts of things are fine if you provide an offsite link for people to go to though  )
