The Shining: 113 minutes

Just gonna put it out there, I friggin love this movie. Try and ban me, I dare you.

But, maybe that's because I have seen a completely different version of movie to a lot of you. The U.S version is 144 minutes. After that, Kubrick cut it down to 113 minutes. This is the version I have seen, and the version Kubrick preferred.

Has anyone here seen both, and if so, which did you prefer ?

I've only seen the 144 and I love it. I don't want to see a shorter version, only longer!

The 113 minute is the default version everywhere except the U.S.

Never heard of the shorter version so I most likely saw the longer version in Canada. I loved this movie as well, regardless of the version. I didn't mind the TV version either, but prefer the Kubrick one. Of course the book itself was best of all!

Thanks! Sounds like a lot of my favorite parts don't exist in the 113 minute version. Hmmph.
