I finally started the new (4th) season of Black Mirror, I thought the first episode was all right, a little hokey at times but sorta terrifying if you really thought about it. The notion of a virtual clone being trapped for eternity in a virtual existence had already been covered in a prior seasons "Christmas Special", though. Sometimes this series repeats itself.

I loved this episode. I think it was purposely supposed to be hokey, and it made me laugh. But I thought being stuck in some nerd's fantasy world was terrifying.

Don't forget the Buck Rogers tv series! The second episode, "That Man on Beta" ....

Also, speaking of Solaris, I also saw:

"Stalker
Andrei Tarkovsky, USSR, 1979, 163m
Russian with English subtitles
New digital restoration

Twenty years ago a falling object decimated a provincial Russian town, and those who later went near the crash site—now known as The Zone—disappeared. Access is strictly prohibited, but outsiders can still get in with the help of a “stalker.” Inside The Zone is The Room, within which secret wishes can be granted. Based on the novel Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers, Stalker is a visually extraordinary and philosophically provocative fable about the limits of knowledge—personal, scientific, and spiritual. New digital restoration by Mosfilm. A Janus Films release."

Well, some years ago, that is ....

ghost19 and osnafrank there's an actual cross-over episode between Space: Above and Beyond and Millennium. In the former show it's mentioned that the Chigs had visited earth in the past .. .so in a Halloween episode of the latter, Frank runs into a Chig, thinking it's an adult trick-or-treater ....

I missed this whole Sci-Fi January Movie marathon (sorry) but a couple nights ago I did see William Shatner in that Twilight Zone episode where he sees a gremlin on the plane's wing - that was quite good!

HOLY CRAP! You’re right dude. I went back and watched the Halloween episode of Millennium. It’s called “The Curse Of Frank Black”, one of my favorite episodes. He does run into a Chig....can’t believe I missed that....thanks for the info!

Maybe they're stuck in the past, where DVD's could hold less data ....

Yeah, could be a couple of regular old CDs. Or just really cheap/dodgy DVDs. Who knows? It's just a bit of a pain having to get up to change discs halfway through. I suppose I should transfer them both to a hard drive or something.

The Abominable Snow Monster of the North (or "Bumble" for short) is a giant yeti that lives in the North Pole and the main antagonist in the 1964 Rankin/Bass special Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer and a major protagonist in its 2001 sequel. In the 2001 sequel, he is Yukon Cornielius' bumbling sidekick. Yukon calls him Bumble.
