Sony pictures has released a faux website for the Sombra Group company:
The Sombra Group | Bringing You the World
On the website you can find a link to a mobile app which includes a "NCP Scanner" (North Central Positronics) which reveals hidden secrets when certain images are scanned. As far as I know there are 4 images that can be scanned. One came from Stephen King's twitter page, one from Idris Elba's twitter page, one from Matt Mchonehuey's twitter page. The fourth image is the cover of entertainment weekly - the Dark Tower issue, of course.
Awesome and creepy... but why? What does it mean?
Well, I certainly don't know the answer but I have a feeling there's a puzzle to be solved. If you poke around on the app, you'll see a section called "For Employees." Clicking on that section leads to a prompt for a username and password.
Also I've discovered that there is a second website for the Sombra group. Icanshowyoufearinahandfulofdust (yes, just take out the word 'the.') This website is extremely cryptic. I wont go into details about it because I think you should experience this yourself. I thought maybe it was a fan site created a while ago, but apparently the website is only 2 months old.
I don't know abut you guys but I love puzzles, so if anyone has any ideas about all these clues, please share!

::edit:: The site automatically turned the urls into links with the descriptive titles. the website urls look like this: www. thesombragroup .com and www. sombragroup .com

Much more coming as we lead up to the movie release in February 2017.

The drop in websites and lack of solid promotion is troubling. I'm hoping they come back online and the full court press begins soon as that would be indicative of the studio having faith in the product. I do think I understand the real reason the film was pushed back to its current date. I think word is that the new It film is supposed to be very good (and I hope this is true). If that movie blows the doors off, it will have solid carryover (being a King film as well) and act as promotion for the Dark Tower.

Google search still isn't coming up with any results for update matches regarding the app... :(
The last article I've found was from Dec. 1, 2016 talking about the Psychic test.
