I've been enjoying King's novels for about now 26 years and now FINALLY, I'm starting The Stand.

Feels great to be at the start of such an epic book, and to be able to lose myself in an other world for the next 'little' while.

You will want to crawl into the pages of this book and live there... the characters are that realistic. It truly is an epic read and I never tire of seeing each character's developing arc. Let us in on your feedback. Enjoy!

I will do that. Seems like the perfect time to read it - cold and windy outside, no wish to leave the house. 30 pages in, already loving it.

That was my first SK book ever. After I read it, I said, "I'm going to read every book this author writes." And I have. And loved them all--some more than others. There are only a handful of authors whose books I read as soon as they come out. I buy each SK on each release day. I don't cherish a lot of material things but my music and book collections are something I do love.

I'm a bit envious of you reading The Stand for the first time. I still have to read it every 5 years or so--it's like visiting a dear old friend at this point.
