Sounds like the kind of advise I needed ;)

The Dark Tower Graphic Novels are also catching my eye...... I can put that to the back of my mind until I have finished the books though :D
....absolutely....finished the novels and then begin investing in the comics.....Robin and the rest of the team did an incredible job of extrapolating and fleshing out plot points that were left undeveloped.....

Well I have ordered The Stand ones this morning as a Omnibus (I blame you ;;D) Now I have to wait ages as they are coming from your side of the Pond.

Yep, I am getting though The Dark Tower Novels, I can't put it down! I will finish The Waste Lands this weekend :D

Trying to get all of them in hardback, The Gunslinger is either impossible or extortionate! I would like to get an early copy as the paperback I have is the revised edition..I feel like I am missing out on things! In fact the first 3 books are difficult to find in hardback :(

I read a smattering of both 'The Stand' and 'The Dark Tower' graphic novels from my local library. While I enjoyed them both, and the stories were extensions of the books, they did not compare to the books therefore I would not be interested in owning them. Having said that, if I had money to burn then I would collect them.

I don't expect them to be better than the books, they would just be cool to have and look at

I read The Stand comic some years aback. It is perhaps the best and most faithful of the King comic-book adaptations to-date (The Dark Tower comes in second). What I love is that they adapted not only the uncut edition, but stuck with the ame writer/artist pairing throughout the entire series. I think it's worth having in your collection and at some point in time I will be adding the omnibus to my bookshelf.

....I enjoyed the entire run to date, and Robin did a tremendous job of extrapolating the unwritten loose ends and I told her as much at the Kon.....there is still hope that the new “owners” of the series will publish from where the tale was left in limbo....
