Hi All,
I'm from Wisconsin and have been an avid fan of Mr. King since, I think, the beginning. The first indication this gentleman was right up my alley was seeing "Duel" on TV. A true masterpiece. I then began a 30+ year ride with Mr. King through all of his works, movies and discussions. For the honor to be able to say, I have most all the books. My son was a little concerned looking at my book collections but after reading a couple of books in college, he got hooked as well.

My question is this, we had heard there was going to be another movie made about "The Stand". My son had read somewhere that casting was taking place. He had heard that Matthew McCohnehy (sp. sorry Matthew) was going to be cast as Randall Flagg. We have made several wishes for other well-known actor and actresses to play the various roles. However, replacing Ruby Dee as Mother Abigale will be difficult. We came up with a wish list for other roles in the book too.

We were home sick with this virus (OH NO!!!!) last week and watched this movie again to pass the time. Jamey Sheridan as Randall Flagg was outstanding as well.

I heard the same thing about 'The Stand'. Didn't hear about MM though.

I am currently rereading the Stand; (only this time it is the uncut one). I am only up to about chapter 15 or 16 but it is really good so far.
I read it the first time around so long ago (like 35 years ago!) so it's almost like a new book to me and I am loving it

Isn't that fun to see the whole gang again! When I read the un-cut - I found myself skimming to the "new stuff because I felt like I knew them so well.

(off topic, I re-read Shawshank yesterday. The writing is just gorgeous.)

I've never been able to find a copy of Shawshank. I know my daughter really wants one too. Going to try in Edmonton next weekend at Chapters. No luck
getting one here; out of stock on Chapters website.

It is one of the short stories in a book called "Different Seasons" and the actual title is "Rita Hayward and the Shawshank Redemption"

I don't get the "Duel" reference. I'm asuming that you mean the Steven Spielberg TV movie penned by Richard Matheson and starring Dennis Weaver? I don't think Stephen King had a hand in that, but I could be wrong. It's happened before....LOL!
