All right, I should say this, that IT is my favorite novel of all time. Insomnia is a great story, but because I am such a fan of IT it brings up all sorts of questions as to the nature of The Random and The Purpose.

I think many would agree with me that the entity called Bob Gray or Pennywise would be an agent of The Random.

The Crimson King says he knows all the shape shifters, which includes Pennywise I'm sure, but what higher relationship is there between IT and the Crimson King?

When Ralph talks to the King and CK takes the form of a catfish it is female, like the one that Ralph caught as a kid.

When the King Fish is called the QUEEN fish, my mind automatically went back to the fact that IT was a female and IT was also pregnant.

Am I reading too much into this?

Plus all of those people that Pennywise killed over the millennia it resided under Derry, did they belong to the random? Did Pennywise and Atropos work together?

My head is splitting...

No I think those are all good, valid questions.. The thing is if there are multiple stories of The Dark Tower, then we really don't know on what floor the story of it, the story of insomnia, and even the story of us here today on Earth are located.. So they may all be running concurrently or aeons apart. As far as working together I don't know about that, they both seem to be solitary workers.. but who knows, maybe the catfish was a spawn of It.. or maybe they are the same creature, on different levels of the Tower..

I have to read the DT SEPTET again, because I want to be able to discuss the ouvre more in depth.

But can someone tell me, if it's possible, if the levels of the tower work both in conjunction
And separate from each other, then are the Mike Hanlon and Ben Hanscomb mentioned in Insomnia may not be strictly the entities of the same name which exist on a different level of the tower?

Having just listened to Insomnia again there are also the references to Gage Creed from Pet Sematary and a few others I can't recall at the moment.

Does this mean that all stories are their own spokes on the wheels that surround the tower, sharing names but not the paricular characters from each story? Like the Bev Marsh and Richie Tozier of 11/22/63 aren't the same as those in IT?

Sounds about right..I need to reread the dark tower series again too..so many of his books have dark tower tie-ins.It and Insomnia are my two personal favorites of his books, closely followed by the stand, the shining, salems lot and others, and many of his short stories..can't give you chapter and verse on what is correct or not,am sure a lot of the stuff is over my head..one member who seems to know a lot of the stuff, and specifically anything related to It,is Robert Gray,if you search out It threads and comment where you see his name, or even drop him a message I am sure he would be glad to discuss thoughts with you..hope you enjoy the SKMB!
