Rosita can go at any time. My goodness that character is just a hot mess.
Agreed. Though it will likely be
Sasha who goes soon, which is too bad. She's taken the place of a comic character who dies ugly, and the actress already has another job as captain on the new Star Trek series, so...

Re: the controversial T-shirt, I noticed in the reports over here how no actual black people complained (AFAIK). My nephew does have that T-shirt. It was a Christmas present. He wanted it based on nothing more than liking the show and the character of Negan and wasn't even aware of the racist tone/word in some forms of the rhyme. In any case, given the context of Negan's utterance there was nothing racist about it.
I chalked it down to people having all the best intentions but ultimately taking offence on behalf of a group of people, where no offence had been taken by that group. So what's worse? The T-shirt, or the fact that white folks saw it and immediately had the n-word pop into their noggins? At what point does it begin to say more about them than the intentions of those who created and launched the garment?
If, on the other hand, it had caused offence among the black community, then it would be right to look at it again and say it was ill-judged despite the context in the show, no offence being intended, and so on (though of course I'm aware that could all be argued another way, but if everything starts getting censored just in case it offends someone - anyone - nothing more will ever be shown, done or said).

But...the show!
Has Eugene gone to the Dark Side? Much as I want to say no, he is a coward and cowards have a tendency to stick close to whoever appears strongest. Or, in the words of my granddad, be "Any road for a bun".
I don't like Dwight, either. It's no good trying to make him seem complex and sympathetic now; he's been too much of an a-hole and I just want him dead. Oh, and I don't believe he could ever 'pull' his missus, either. Talk about out of his league! :O_O:
Molten metal on walkers. Hm. Wouldn't the stuff just melt straight through the (rotting) skin and weakening bones? Even if it didn't, wouldn't the weight crush the skull and cause brain trauma? Granted it could just be a thin skin of stuff to reduce the weight, but then it's not going to be impenetrable.
I liked the redhead. Yum yum! (Or something less Hannibal-sounding...) :D
But, could no one rescue a Playstation or something? That game was utter carp even by Atari 2600 standards! 'Breakout' or 'Battlezone' now...)

I feel the same way. The artcles I read also referenced that it was white people who complained. It took me about a day to even figure out why it would be racist.

All in all, a pretty good episode. I liked
Rick and Michonne's little interlude of peace--nice to see them together without THE DRAMA--makes the development of their relationship a little more believable. Some neat kills, and I especially liked the moment when
Michonne thinks Rick is dead
. Her reaction was spot on.
There were a few things that irritated me, too.
first, did they learn NOTHING from the Big Lots roof cave in in season 3? Why wasn't that place looted, after so many years? Next, why in the world would Rick believe Jadis? "We don't trouble. We just take," seems like a pretty clear indication that they're not going to 'trouble' themselves when they get what they want. And what is UP with that ridiculous speech pattern? Unless these were non-native english speakers from the beginning, the whole 'Me Tarzan, You Jane' patois is just stupid. Third: would they just kill Rosita already, since they've obviously f**ked up her character. This is just what made me mad about what they did with Carol: they let a character lay fallow for seasons, then completely change their behaviour, with no arc to support such a change. Kill them both and put them out of my misery, please.
Finally,
Judith grew up at least a year in the few weeks since Negan was holding her in the rocker--that made me laugh. Mr. King must love that 'Kid Trick'. She shouldn't be around, either. Tiny kids are a drag on any show that doesn't revolve around tiny kids.

I'm going to respectfully disagree.
There were good moments
though only one of them involved Rick and Michonne. I'll agree that her reaction was spot-on, but i) why is she acting weirdly just because she's a bit loved up? Seems out of character, to me, and ii) the walkers' reactions were not spot on. Rick was scrabbling around on the ground. Walkers had clear line of site. It's already been well-established that they'll gather around anywhere people are hiding. Some even paid more attention to the tank than the fresh horse meat on offer back in ep.1, because they focus on narrow things, being zombies and all. So why, all of a sudden, were they gathered around the deer? If the deer had been squealing at being eaten alive, then yeah, fair one. But it wasn't even made clear that the walkers had got hold of the (crap CGI, yet again) deer.
Seemed like nothing but audience manipulation, IMO. Call it this season's Glenn-moment.

I was also immensely irritated by the levels of Stupid on display, given the characters. It made no sense to go strolling across that roof (saggy, waterlogged, not seen maintenance in years due to ZA). It made less sense for Rick to want to stay out there for a day or so longer once they'd found the supply of MREs - unless he's forgotten about the lack of food back at Alexandria or simply doesn't give a damn about those folks anymore. 'Old' Rick would have taken the supplies back, caching most against Negan's goons turning up, and then gone back with at least a couple of extra pairs of hands to help recover the weapons. Tbh, given the blasé attitude he and Michonne took to the walkers, I hoped/expected one of them to end up dead (and let's face it, this is and always has been Rick's story, so it'd be Michonne) or requiring impromptu surgery (though with the state of CG effects this season... *shudder*).

So for me, the best bits occurred elsewhere in what was, IMO, the least enjoyable ep since the return.
Gabriel's little spiel to Rosita, who seems to be heading for the chop along with Sasha.

As for the rest...
Who run Bartertown? Master-Blaster. Now enough with that ridiculous BS, writers and producers, if you please. It's jarring, and it makes me think someone on the staff is either taking the pee or has been promoted beyond their level of competence and can't find their best crayons. Perhaps they've eaten them?

Not overly impressed.

when they fell through the roof my reaction was " again?"

And

all the oogly-googly between Rick and Michonne had me expecting to see sparkly vampires appear

And

I agree Michonne's reaction to thinking Rick was dead was excellent, it was to obvious she was wrong. Not for a second did I think he was dead.

Is this the last season? It feels like it.

misery chastain loves co.

Let me preface this by saying that yes I still love the show and yes I know they're building up to something but this second half has been a snoozefest so far. I'm bored. Even Negan who I usually find so deliciously evil had me bored in the Eugene episode. The only people that I am mildly interested in right now are the Garbage Pail Kids because we don't really know much about them.
I REALLY hope from the preview of this weeks episode that Carol is going back to her badassery. I cannot watch her read books anymore. We also need more Ezekial :love-struck:
