Okay, I know this is a little early, but I'm like a fighter-in-training. It takes boxers months to get fight ready.

Having said that, by declaring this now in preparation for the new year, I am giving my brain a chance to fully grasp this and get on board with the program or to be horribly shamed by the community for not following through. Perhaps a poopy shoe or two will be thrown (aaaahhhh Nalaa -- I still miss that guy.)

My New Years resolution is: Read as many of my Cemetery Dance books as I can. First priority, Cemetery Dance.

Over the years, I have purchased many books through the company. I have picked up grab bags and dinged sales and Richard selling stuff out of the trunk of his plymouth fury. (Okay, that is just a great big bulbous lie -- it was a Buick 8, or a Ford Focus).

Gorgeous books crafted together with such nice ingredients. Talented artists and their amazing work. And I hate to admit it, but, I do judge a book by its cover -- like a siren's song, I am drawn to a gorgeous book. I look at how it's made. I smell it. I look at the art included. I see what Type it was set in. Every single aspect about a book whispers to that tiny little rice light of creativity burning somewhere in the goo that makes up me.

But, for too long, there they sit on my shelves, staring at me. Well over a hundred titles I would guess. Why did I get these if I'm not going to read them? I'm sure as heck never giving them away or selling them. This is my library. Like Alexandria. When the world burns, if my library stays intact, it's a pretty good representation of civilization. I have tons of non fiction choices, but there is plenty of truth in my fiction too. Plenty of real in the surreal.

So, anyone else want to read their Cemetery Dance Books and add to the thread? I encourage you to do so. Lots of great authors waiting to be discovered and talked about. Or talked about MORE. And it's our way of spreading the word about a small press and their beautiful work.

Keep books alive and well!

My CD dance books are few and far between. Usually gifted to me, and treasures.
And you've probably read them?

Over the years, I have purchased these special offers as gifts to myself at Christmas or my birthday. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love Cemetery Dance's really really expensive books. They are so beautiful with their traycases and slipcases and special art and oversized prints, the vibrant colors they use -- I covet them but can't afford them. Collector's grab them up to sell -- I don't blame them. They have the money and they make a profit. But I wouldn't be a seller that way.

If they offered any of these books because a page was torn, the spine dented or Mindy, their office executive accidentally drooled on one , I would buy it! At a reduced price of course. For ME. For me to own forever. I would never sell my books unless of course I needed a left ventricle or maybe a kidney. I get it when people have to do that to continue to live, to pay their bills, to put their kids through school. But it always breaks my heart when I see someone selling their collection because my mind immediately jumps to "hardship."

Got my first book lined up. I thought it was a nice little starter read, lots of short stories to get myself in the groove.

Glenn is a fantastic artist. I sent him a portrait of Doug Graves in macaroni one year. It was a joke. I think he got a pretty good laugh and it was really a fantastic macaroni piece of art!
...I have a couple of things from Glenn.....his work always makes me spend time searching the illustrations-because they are so multi-layered....

Oh no, it looks like I'm alone? I thought for sure you guys were snatching up those grab bags and dinged sales. Well, I'll babble about the books and maybe something I say will entice you to purchase some of these authors.
I have some CD books I've collected over the years. I need to check and see what I have. I know I have several ARCs, and a couple of titles from Brian James Freeman.

Oh good! If you haven't read them and would like to take this opportunity to do so and then let us know your thoughts, I would really love to hear them!
