I want to know, where are all these Bill Skarsgård portrait paintings? I want one. I want a Bill/Henry Deever portrait.

Does anyone know anything about these art pieces? Who really did them? Was it a number of artists painting them for the show or just one artist?

Not that any of you have been waiting with bated breath, (maybe baited breath) but my time this last month was spent watching Halloween movies for the marathon so my reading suffered.

I will get back on these CD books as I still have so many books and so little time to get them in before the year of CD 2018 is done.
:wait:…………..……….waiting...…………………..

The grab bag with the ARC . Has two more books at the printer and will then ship. Sorry it took so long to see this.
I'm starting to get a little concerned that I'm not going to have a grab bag under my xmas tree seeing as how things got hung up when they lost their printer. Or one of their printers. Not their fault by any means, things happen. It's my one and only gift under the tree though, so bummed about that.

I will give myself something else. All will be well.

I always want CD to be faster. I order and get excited when it finally arrives. Half the time I forget what I ordered.

Same here. You guys will start talking about a book and I can't remember if I've ordered it or not so I always have to go dig through my order history. I so wish each history told the names of the book and not just an order number. It would be nice to look and see immediately what you ordered.

I just emailed CD last night regarding an order I placed in early 2017 for three limited edition books. Got a reply today stating that it's still going to be 'a good while' until those orders are filled. They said I could do a refund. I have about $4,000 in pre-orders with them right now. I'm really beginning to question myself about spending such amounts on books anymore. Used to be that the limited editions were just that- limited editions that wouldn't see another kind of printing, etc. such as The Gunslinger. It wasn't ever supposed to have a 'regular' edition. But, like all of King's books, they eventually see the light of day at the local bookstore so why am I spending so much on these books? I could be taking nice vacations with what I'm spending these days. I could cancel all of my orders and knock down my credit card balance quite nicely and put some money in savings.

65. Submerged

by Thomas F. Monteleone

About the Book:

"A thriller in the tradition of Ken Follett and Robert Ludlum, Submerged chronicles the unique history of the U-5001, a Nazi secret weapon that could have changed the course of World War II, and it's the story of two men who become inextricably connected to the submarine.

The first is Kapitaenleutnant Erich Heinz Bruckner, who commanded the U-boat on its only mission—a voyage that transported him and his crew to a place of wonder and horror.

The other is Dexter Bucklin, an ex-Navy diver who finds the only evidence of the U-5001's existence, which drives him to discover its original, terrifying mission.

Submerged follows both men in a narrative that spans generations of adventure and mystery, echoing the tales of Poe and Lovecraft at their most strange. As the paths of these men's lives converge, a third element surfaces to influence the decisions of both men—decisions that will shape the future of civilization in ways never imagined...

The latest and greatest novel by master storyteller Thomas F. Monteleone is not to be missed!"

My Thoughts:

Our cover artist will be familiar to Cemetery Dance collectors. Caniglia. Always spot on with his artistic vision.

This story was intrigue, suspense, mystery, espionage, history, science, warfare -- I didn't think I would enjoy this book. All year I knew I was going to have to read this story and all year, I would pick it up and put it back down. Ugh.

I was pleasantly surprised! It is a great ride from start to finish. My favorite character and the most intriguing was the German U-boat commander. I was so happy to get to his chapters!

Mr. Monteleone melds factual (from WWII to more current times) and fictional with such skill, I really didn't know what was taken from history and what was his embellishments to history. He was a true artist and storyteller in this respect. I would put the book down not only because it would make me so anxious I needed a break to walk away, but also to hit Google to see if certain things were true. And I did that because I wanted to learn more. Not to be an azzhole to try and disprove his facts. Did such-and-such or so-and-so exist? Was that a real thing? Is he pulling my leg? Oh. My. God.

I needed to know more. I felt I owed it to Mr. Monteleone to read further. This book demanded that I educate myself. The fact he had me believing every word is a testament to his writing.

High tech and old school weapons, evolving science, secret societies, lots of conspiracy theory stuff that is even more unsettling to think about in terms of our existence here and now and the chess play of world domination -- yikes!

Now, if you are one of those people who look for errors like Glocks and safeties and correct years for certain car makes -- then you will spend your whole time trying to prove things wrong in this book. Because it is packed with so many technical creations, scientific terms, tools, weapons, techniques, formulas and scenarios -- your head will be reeling at the thought of how naive you just might be.

Remember. This is fiction and the author has the right to manipulate real things to fit his creative view. So just give it a rest and enjoy the story. And research the history for fun.

This is definitely a manly man kind of book, but I don't want to label it as only that. Everyone loves a good story.

I have no doubt Submerged will be on my Top Ten list for the second half of the year.

Glenn Chadbourne is our featured artist not only on the cover, but throughout the book as there are dedicated trivia questions for his art. Nicely done as always.

I did much better answering these questions than I did on my last illustrated trivia book giving my best showing with Creepshow, Storm of the Century and The Shawshank Redemption.

Once again, a collaborative effort between the authors and the community at large with a nice shout-out to them in the back of the book. Good job guys!
I really learned a lot that I didn't know before. Fun and informative!

Who knew there was so many Children of the Corn flicks? I don't think I've even seen the first one.
