Expat(riate) - a person taking up residency (or working) in another country. The way you were describing reading dates is more like someone who is from outside the US.

Ah. no, I'm here in Northern California living in a town called Weed, yes Weed. It is a town on the map if you want to check it out.

It was named after the founder, Abner James Weed.

But I am very disgruntled with the way things are in America though.

I don't know what that is.

I'm dyslexic.
Are you really or are you joking? From my understanding of dyslexia, it's not just simply juxtaposing letters, numbers, etc. And even if you are, do you really not know the standard way of abbreviating a date in the US? Or were you pulling our collective leg?

i am not joking. I have simply ALWAYS seen it as day first, then month, then year. i've never seen it put month first, day second.

In signing the papers for the apartment I live in, it was expressed in that manner.

Give up what?

Trying to correct me? All I'm trying to say is that I've had a different experience than you guys and i am a very different kind of person than you guys.

For some reason, being different always gets people very upset.

Ah well, c'est la guerre.

I would venture to think that many, many people who gravitate to this web site are "different" myself included. I don't think any of us have problem with your being "different." Speaking for myself, I just find it odd that living in this country you do not know the standard month/day/year of abbreviating a date. That's all. But I believe you and accept your answer and will move on. Thanks.

PS... there's no "war" here so your signoff is not needed. Peace!

No, I'm sorry. I am in the same boat sometimes and I get it. Shake it off, let it go, this is s fun place. Try not to read words that are not there, it's all good!

It's gone.

When people ask me how it's going I usually but not always reply it went that away. It always goes the way don't want it to go.

Which is a joke, of course of course.
