Hi, This is Mara, a girl from Córdoba , Argentina. I just wanted to write you (Mr. S. King) to let you know that the book Misery changed my lifewhen I was finishing highschool. I was 17 years old , and my english teacher said to me I had a talent for English language, so I started studying that , plus because I like helping other and education. SO... It was hard , of course, I hadn´t the opportunity to go to a private tutor to be prepared for college. I failed. However, I went to see my former high school teacher and she said "you should start reading some good english literature, because I cannot help you" jaj OK , hearing that make me cry and I had my first panic attack. Next week I was at the city centre walking around with my mother ,and we entered to a secondhand bookstore, and I met YOU , there it was the book of Misery ...all ragged ... I bought my first book on english literature. I read it pretty fast (I was surprised) ...
OK, Your book make me want to make it ... make me want to give another try to college ...motivated me ... make me feel that there was someone who wrote one story but that gives you another at the same time .. the words "I can .. I can " will be inside of me forever , they are rooted in my being. Actually , as I think of it , It is part of me , of whom I am now. Thank you! I am writing all of this as I think of it. I hope to keep advancing .. someday become the teacher I want to be. Thank you , again, for existing. Mara Elizabeth Conteras.

I found this and NOW I can say that Misery book was my best friend at that time, plus It was some kind of therapy , I get to realize now...
I will see books differently from now on... jaajaja
I would like to know if someone had a similar experience ... that is to say , If someone learned something important or changed some aspect of your life... or maybe answer you were looking for

I wish my first novel in English had been one of SK's.

I have no complaints about my English teachers in junior high and high school. They were good. But still, all of them had to follow the structure used for said classes, which is not really good for any real-world use. Kids just are motivated to learn the current topics for the exam, and forget them afterwards.

Learning by reading material you are interested in is the best way, in my experience, because then things stick in your brain because you care about them and will put them in use in the future.

Novels and comic books (my recommendations) help in using dialogue that mimics the one used in real life (mixed with a little super-hero talk, perhaps), unlike school classes, where the examples are just of the "textbook" kind and do not always reflect the way people actually speak.

Howdy Msara, That was a very nice, inspiring introduction. Keep on keeping on darling. I can understand your written English very easily. There are some here who have impeccable control over the English language and I still don't understand them. ;;D All the best, mal.
